Engine Wants To Stall When Stopping

I just had a Vortech S/C and McLeod street twin clutch installed on my '01 ZO6. I also had the bottom end forged, added a BBK TB, and dropped the compression to 9:4:1. The engine wants to stall when I'm coming to a stop, especially if it's a quick stop. Because I know the street twin pulls the engine down, I've tried slipping the tranny in neutral when stopping. It helps, sometimes. I watch the tach when stopping, and it usually drops to 150-200 rpm's and then slowly increases to a normal idle, IF it doesn't stall. My tuner is hoping to alter the tune to cure this. I had the same problem on my S/C Z28 when stopping. Is it the tune, IAC, or something else? Thanks.

Rick

I had same problems. I think it is the tune, but i am no expert. FRC TOM may be able to chime in. What I did, was gassed it up a bit when slowing down or slow down more gradually in the mean time. What sucked was trying to make a turn and it stalling out. But then again.....I had bad compression at the time but i do know what your saying. Mine would drop way low and stall on several occasions. Get it checked soon. Would suck if it stalle don a turn with a car riding your tail.....Inevitable for an accident.

Idle airflow and throttle follower tables need tweaking.
What are the specs on the cam?

The BBK TB can be a hassle. If you have a scanner, check the throttle position opening (percentage and voltage) at idle and adjust the blade position to specs. IF that checks out then monitor the RAF and make adjustments to compensate, along with the throttle followers.

Hopefully IVO Z06 chimes in. He was having a similar problem but fixed it with a LS2 TB and a re-tune.

Try this...Unplug the battery overnight, then drive the car next day...I also had a similar problem , and was cured when i did this....But, if this does not work try Andy if in his area, he will fix it..

Idle re-learn may fix it. If not, get it re-tuned. We've seen "issues" with the after market throttle bodies. Some can be fixed, some cannot. The LS2 throttle body seems to work properly every time but the harness needs modification in order to get it to work.
