Thanks Guys! The drive home from Ft. Wayne was very docile. I had my five year old in the car, so I just cruised along. Not to mention the fact that I wanted to let the clutch get broken in a little.
First of all, I
LOVE this cam! The lope is just perfect. It idles rock solid at 800rpm and has a nice burble and shake to it. With the Dynatech true long tubes and Stingers, it just sounds vicious.
The clutch will take some getting used to. It has a little more abrupt engagement than the stage 2. I almost killed it backing into a parking spot when we stopped for a bite to eat on the way home.
The tranny feels much better now. Phil also had his tranny guy go through it and replace the synchros. It already had steel shift forks, so it feels nice and solid now.
Phil also threw on one of his custom fabricated differential strut braces, so a nice high rpm launch at the strip should be safe.
Hey Bob, come on over, we'll see what kind of lap time we can do around 270.
We'll see how the clutch holds up Wes. Phil told me the biggest thing to
NOT do was to slip it out of the hole. He said that just cooks 'em. He told me to just dump it. That'd be tough with street tires. I'm putting my DRs on for the Fest.
Wayne, Phil thinks 600 at the wheels is pretty safe with a good, conservative tune. My dyno graph is flat as a pancake. No spikes or dips at all.
And no Case, it isn't tubbed. Needs to be, but isn't yet.
Now for a nice clean up tonight, and off to meet up with Panzer and the rest of the Michigan caravan folks first thing in the a.m. Can't wait to see all you guys!!!

Everyone have a safe trip!
