Finally dyno'd the 402 Procharger F1A today-some good news, some bad!

Well after messing with our new 224X we finally got it working. Out of all the dyno's shipped they shipped ours with a glitch in the software. So after Dave spent hours on the phone they figured it out. So for the good news. First pull dialing the car with the MAF again the car made 600 rwtq@3250 rpm and 730 rwhp@5000 rwhpbad news-boost fell off. Tighten the belt some more same numbers-after 5000 rpm boost stays at 10 psi. Tighten the belt some more and next pull the belts in a million pieces.
We were making 200 rwhp every 1000 rpm( 500 rwhp@4000 to 730@5000) so the new 402 is working pretty good. The torque is just sick for a centri-especially since this is a baby blower. Still have to put timing in and take fuel out as were only at 14 degrees and pegged at 10.1 so torque will pick up more. Then when we get it dialed in on pump gas and meth we'll stick in some 110 leaded and meth.
So back to the drawing board trying to figure out the belt issue. I'll pull everything off the car this weekend and we'll back on the dyno by next weekend. Dave and I have a few ideas and whole load of parts to try out!
When this is dialed in it's gonna rip!

Re: Finally dyno'd the 402 Procharger F1A today-some good news, some bad!

These might be things you have already thought about or tried but I'll throw them out anyway...

Laser align the belt

The power steering pulley/facing is not strong enough to handle super high hp and will flex (throwing the belt off alignment just enough to put everything out of whack and tear up the belt). The ps pulley needs to be reinforced.

There is a middle ground that can be hard to find on the belt tensioner. Too little and she slips, too much and she breaks.

Hope you get it worked out, bro. Sounds like it's going to be a super beast!

Mike

Thanks Mike, I did all of the above-I have the upgraded 04 PS bracket with a brace for support.

The culprit lies in the blower bracket I'm using-when I ran 9's I was testing out the Procharger Stage 2 bracket and it was working fine-I saw as much as 19 psi with it and no slip. Then I went ahead and put on different bracket that was easier to tighten the belt but now from what i'm seeing is not putting the tension on the belt where it needs to be.

3 power steering brackets and 7 belts later all shredded i'm done-time to go back to the Procharger bracket.

I'm going to get my engine builder Dave@CDNperf to give Lance@Procharger a call and get the 8 rib Procharger bracket shipped out my way asap!

We've been monitering the weather at South Carolina's "House of Hook" and are just itching to get down there and set a new Centri record!!!!!!

btw, shooting for 9.3's myself this year. In the process of having the convertor tightened and upgrading the differential (still stock right now) as we speak. Only running 17lbs right now but if this works properly, we're going to a smaller pulley and hope to drag the rwhp up close to (or over)900.
Hope we both set some new personal bests this year!

Mike-I'm sure you'll smash that ET!!!

I was talking to Rodney@RPM and he suggested that if and when I break my diff that I upgrade to the C6Z06 diff and cradle-he said that would be a very strong setup.

Getting a quote from DTE right now on their new racing differential..

btw, you really need to set aside some time to bring that beastie to the Fest in September. I was looking forward to watching you run last year but it seems you couldn't make it. Would be great if you could get some time off this year and make it down. I want to see that baby in action!

I really wanted to go last year Mike but I was juggling so many things at once I was losing my mind. Hopefully I can get this car down the track by march and beat that 9.33 record-then it's time to enjoy. Is that date already set? I'll let my engine builder and sponser Dave Diluca from CDNperf know and we'll make a point of coming down.
Forget my car I would love to see your car in action! I still remember reading about it in the magazine-you set the bar pretty hi!
I have soo many questions for you-like for example do you think the twin intercoolers are efficient enough instead of say running the C6 kit with the big front mount?
My kit's an old A&A kit that i've modded over and over to get it where I think it's good-but I'm always looking for ways to improve!
