Higher NOS gains on smaller block than big block???

Hi All,

I've been searching on various forums and have not found any real explanations to why my friend's 422 z06's nos gains are much less than smaller block say 346 guys?

I've found a handful of members running stock 346ci size blocks and with a 100 shot of nos, torque gains are near 150RW while my buddy's 422ci is only gaining 65RW?

Is this normal for big blocks to have smaller TQ gains on NOS than on smaller blocks?

I first thought it was maybe the tuner but he's a very well-known shop that builds custom motors for vettes all the time.

Don't get me wrong, 575RWTQ is no joke just N/A its already 510RWTQ, so that's why we're a bit puzzled

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

My buddy's z06 422ci is a tad higher compression that then stock 346 is. Do higher/lower compression motors give out more torque gains when using nitrous?

His nitrous is activated at 3200rpm.
