bottom end can handle 10lbs but the CR of the Z06 wont have the pistons lasting very long with 10lbs of boost unless you use meth injection.

6lbs for a stock Z.

Change heads and sell the ls6 heads or have the combustion chambers on your ls6 heads opened up a little. If you lower your compression ratio enough, the stock pistons can handle 9psi or more. Meth is a good idea as well.

Please be more specific. I am considering the purchase of Patriot stage 3 heads and want to lower my compression and turn up the boost.

Well then get their stage 3 LQ9 heads instead of stage 3 ls6 heads. LQ9 heads are very similar to ls6 heads, but have larger combustion chambers than ls6 or even ls1 heads, and will lower your compression ratio.

What size (CID) engine do you have? Stage 3 Patriot heads are designed with large bore motors in mind. If you're still stock displacement, you may want to go with stage 2 heads, which Patriot designed for 3.905 bore.

Not totally sure, so probably best to ask them.

The LQ9s are 71cc and flow just as good as the 64cc LS6 head, this will bring your CR down to 9.6:1.
These heads can bo found on E-Bay for small $$.

My block is stock and I want to reduce my chance of blowing things up until I take the plunge and just build out the block. I called a vendor on ebay and was told that the LQ9 heads would NOT work because of the bore size....so Im lost because I hear diff things.
Also since I am running twin turbos I figured I would be able to take advantage of stage 3 heads....please everyone lead me into the right combination....Im no pro.
