Looking at Forced Induction

Hey guys I need help. Bought an 03 TR Z about 3 weeks ago, 7500 miles on it and want to go FI. My goal is to keep drivability(daily driver) and to keep the stock hood. Also the stock motor :-)... oh and my hp goal is 500rwhp ish...

couple of questions...
1. whats my best option? Vortec etc... what?
2. I live in Las vegas, so am I going to have issues with overheating on a CS?
3. What are your thoughts on buying a used blower> good or bad?

I have full exhaust on it and intake.
Looking for any helpful information. ANY!
PLEASE HELP! thanks!

I had a Magnacharger answer for you until I noticed you want to keep the stock hood.

Others will chime in here shortly.

There are many threads that discuss this topic. Search for "Supercharger Turbocharger" and you'll get tons of hits.

I've got about 40K miles and 3 years on my Vortech and I'm very happy with it.

I chose STS (site sponsor). Ran 5-10psi on stock motor. It'll run about 550-600rwhp. Still happy and wouldn't go back. Excellent support and well designed. It's now feeding my new LS2 block and still totally satisfied.

It's like age and wisdom.

The more you get, the less you had.

Thanks for all your help. After researching everything, i think i am going to go with a heads, cam setup and some N20... If you guys have any ideas with that, let me know.

Thanks again!

Well first off, Congrats on your new Z06.

There really isn't a single "best" power adder for a stock motor setup. Each type of power adder has pros and cons.

You can skim through the Forced Induction section for five minutes and figure that much out.

If you have the funds I'd opt for a front mounted turbo setup. If not just slap on an ECS Novi 2000, MagnaCharger, or Kenne Bell and go have fun.

500 rwhp should be a walk in the park regardless of your selection.500 rwhp is a walk in the park with -any- of the setups on the market today.

Good Luck,

Mark
