Procharger Stage 2

Thinking about dropping one in...keeping her stock (01 Z)...will keep the rwhp in the 500-520 range. How would you rate?

I am partial towards Procharger so my comments here are a bit biased.....

When you say stage 2, I assume you are referring to the P1-SC Stage 2 kit with the 8 rib set-up?

If so, and assuming the install and tuning are done properly, you should pick up between 150 & 200rwhp (that also assumes new headers to let it breathe better).
You will be running approximately 5 to 6lbs boost and should have no problems with your stock engine. That kit has run virtually trouble free at that boost level.

Again, proper install and tuning is the key (just as it is in any power adder set-up).

I would go with an ECS Paxton kit, you recieve more for your money and a more complete kit, I think it's even cheaper at $6495 shipped but I could be wrong on that. Meaning you get everything necessary, 60lb injectors-breather-catch can-polished aluminum ducting instead of plastic and heat soaking steel-Racetronics-spark plugs-T-bolt clamps-the largest front mount intercooler on the market-new radiator support and so on. No maintenance on the head unit to do or special oils to buy.
Plus that package holds the record for fastest S/C'd C5, so the numbers speak for themselves. Of course I could be biased though.

We just had a customer with a forged 346/stock heads, LS1 intake, AR headers run three 9.77's @ 141 in a full wieght 98 coupe. Thats hard to argue with and we certainly never had results like that when we used Procharger head units.

That's too bad, Doug!
I've seen similar results from Procharger units on C5's.

The stage II kits are with the NEW brackets and setup. BIGGER 4.5" twin-intercoolers

The c5 race kit is the stage II PLUS 8 RIB and F1-C blower.

Might me going procharger soon...
Stage II D1SC or F1-C 8 RIB
Going to run 8lbs for a year on the stock LS6 and then build it and go ALL OUT

You can get the 8 rib with the P1 or D1 as well.

Not sure the thread starter will really need more than the 6 rib though since he's going to run the stock engine.

Actually I think ECS still holds the record for Procharged C5's too... even though they haven't used them for over a year.

When it comes down to it, you'll do less tweaking of the ECS kit. It's complete. Down to inectors, pulleys (that you won't have to replace) and fuel system.

Either way you are going to love the power!!!

Actually, I don't think there is an official 'recordbook' where those "records" are kept.

Yeah, I just wanted to clear out that the stage II was upgraded brackets and bigger intercoolers and the 8-RIB was a seperate upgrade, and not apart of the stage II kit.

Sorry, didn't see your point. You are, of course, correct!
