Spec 5 Clutch.... Yes or No?

My Twin Plate Exedy clutch died yesterday whilst at the drag strip and I am now considering my options for replacement.

The Spec 5 is my current favourite given my car is producing 540lbs/ft torque and 512 RWHP. As I tend to drive my car at the track more than on the road streetability is less important than the clutch being able to cope with the power for drag racing.

I was also considering the Textralia clutch but I am not convinced that it will cope with my power output.

Any other Twin Turbo install guys I would welcome your thoughts / experience of your clutches.

The Spec 5 iron disc is a very good clutch and is surprisingly easier to drive on the street than I thought it would be. A bit bumpy at first until you get used to it and it feels almost like a regular clutch.
Unfortunately, my power level was even a bit too much for the SPEC 5 (I went through 2 of them before changing to a th-400 tranny).
I've heard a lot of good things about the Textralia, especially on mildly modded Z's at the track but I'm not sure about its application on high hp Z's.

I have been running the Mccloud twin disk for about 2 years now without any problems. I dont go to the drag strip much but have been a few times and it held up fine and does well on the street with nittos.

Thanks guys

I got the Spec Stage 5 clutch, it arrived Friday. Started stripping the car for the clutch tonight......what a p.i.t.a. you have to drop the whole of the transmission according to the manual!!

So far the torque tube cover is off as is the exhaust and the bottom inspection cover on the bell housing. Tomorrow is tranny / gearbox dropping and removal of driveshaft from rear of clutch......I hope!
The car is in the local shop but I am helping out in the evenings, as the owner is away and there is only one guy working on it.

Hey db, are you taking your Z to the drag strip much?
If so, how is the RPS holding up at the strip?

GET THAT SPEC CLUTCH BALANCED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before you put it in even if they said they did it already. I hate SPEC for a few reasons but since you already got one make sure it is balanced. I have a McCloed twin disc that I beat hard and it has been flawless so far (7k miles) so we will see.

Get any clutch balanced.
I replace my RPS with a SPEC V.
I have more than a fair amount of torque even on my low boost setting.
Break in the clutch slowly.

I said get the spec clutch balanced because I had to send mine back for a spline problem and they "0" balanced it before returning. Ya right it was only 18 grams out with a aluminum flywheel. SO it was just a warning to him no matter what they tell him. But yes all clutches need balanced.
