Supercharger Experts...Question

Have a stock 01 Z...bought 1 7/8 AR Headers in anticipation of adding a blower and keeping her stock (other than clutch)...is this too big?

Your supercharger isn't going to care how big the headers are. There's no mechanical overlap between the two components and lower exhaust backpressure shouldn't matter to S/C operation. You might need a custom PCM tune though.

ECS installed 1 7/8" on my Z when they did the SC. They told me with the forced induction the bigger headers would help move more exhaust gas.

NA, the bigger headers are normally utilized for the bigger motors. I am not sure they hurt much on the stock motor, but someone in the know will likely chime in if I am wrong.

I have a Kenne Bell supercharger and also installed 1 7/8 Kooks headers. I was told that these were the best headers (size wise) for my application. Think you will be fine going with the same size.

Gee Mike...Louis suggested that Andrew CALL Andy to get some informed info on headers. Andrew says he already bought a set of American Racing headers and was wondering if they were the right size for his application. Since Andy deals in AR headers, is there a reason someone from Massachusetts shouldn't call California for some help? I don't get the "very close to Massachusetts" with comment. Have I missed something here?

Charlie, there you go taking yourself way too seriously again.

My comment was made after thinking about the Mass to Cal distance and it was followed by a laughing smilie....you know, as in a joke.
What part of that don't you understand there, tiger.

I think Charlie meant it as not a proper response from an Administrator.

I see.
You mean that administrators should not be allowed to joke or kid around on this site....just because they're administrators.
Interesting theory.

I guess staff members should just do this job for the pay they receive and for no other reason.
Oops, I forgot......we don't get paid or have any financial interest in the site at all.

Ok, when class begins next week, we'll try another theory and see how that flies.
(oh damn, I think I was beginning to joke around again. This is gonna be a hard habit to break)
