OK GUYS IF YOU WERE GETTING A SUPERCHARGER WHICH ONE WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?. VORTECH, ATI PROCHARGER ,MAGNACHARGER ,[STREET DRIVING USEAGE] AND SOME 1/4 MILE RUNS MOSTLY RED LIGHT TO REDLIGHT DRIVING.
PRO CHARGER for me . Spent the winter doing the install with TPIS headers Random high flow cats, x-pipe & Stingers etc. Had lsi-edit tuned at a local KC shop MC- RACING.( GOOD / SMART GUYS) 498RWHP VERY FUN!!!

Redlight-to-redlight, I'd say the Magnusson Magnacharger would be your best bet. It's a roots type blower that will give you some extra low end torque for short runs and probably not too many problems. It won't produce the horsies that the ATI or Vortech will, but based upon your post, it might be the way to go for how you run your Z
I would say based on your "needs" the Magnacharger is the best bang for your buck. I have one and am happy with it. It has a very flat torque curve with loads of low-end torque. I am running a 4.10 rear end and have relearned how to "launch"...well most of the time
I just purchased a Magnuson. I'm adding a cam from MTI to a Vararam, TPIS Headers, Random Hi Flow Cats & X-Pipe, and Borla Stingers. I also have LS1 Edit tuning, and the car will be re-tuned by MTI after install. I'm looking forward to seeing my dyno when it's done.

yep id go with vortech. keep it looking stock from the outside. plus i dont think you can get an intercooler with the Magnusson Magnacharger. BIG difference in power. either way its gonna be fun.

I don't have any experiance in this area. but i like the ati for the high horsepower and intercooler, and stock look.

I had an ATI on my car for awhile. it was pretty much a constant headache. not many could touch me on the top end when it was in its prime. but after many problems and realizing these cars do not like forced induction i sold the s/c and picked up the nitrous kit. im just as fast if not faster and i enjoy this power adder much more, not to mention the $ i saved.

Care to elaborate??? I have been told by many wiser men then myself to avoid the ATI at all costs on the Z as well..... I was just curious as to what your problems consisted of. This puzzles me, because kit for kit, car for car, I would have to say that ATI is the #1 SC Company out there today
I am in a toss up between the Vortech and the Magnacharger..... Like the torque and the looks of the Mag, and like the all out power and intercooler of the Vortech..... Decisions Decisions!!

Mods? Check.
19/20" Iforged Evos? Check.
Perfect reliability so far (6k miles and climbing fast) except for a coolant hose that was loose and rubbing up against the blower pully and had to be replaced.
Just did some fun racing against a few friends cars, ate a stock SMG M3 w/333hp, ate a 500rwhp Supra, and walked easily on a Honda F4i w/minor mods (about 110hp).
All this was with a passenger in the car. My average mileage before the runs for the past 2k miles or so is 23.5mpg, after the runs it'd dropped to 22.7mpg, after the drive home I'm back to 23.1mpg.
I've heard of belt problems with the ATI, but none for me so far. Biggest problem is I need more traction. Even with CCWs and 335/30/18s out back it annihilates the tires in 1st, can break thm loose in 2nd easily if they're not warmed up, etc.
Haven't had it to the track yet, I'm not a 1/4miler for the most part, but I'd gather it's solidly in the 10s on the Mich Pilot Sports as the F4i can break into the 10s pretty easily and my buddy can certainly ride like a demon.
The Vortech is great, the Magnussen is great. They're all winners and you'll have a **** eating grin on your face any way you go. Personally for street racing I'd avoid the Magnu due to the low end torque, you want less, not more down low, unless you're running slicks.

You may not get 100 rwhp from the Magnuson, I didn't. I dyno'd 391 rwhp just from bolt-ons then added a cam and the Mag. for an additional 85 rwhp, but lots of low end trq. I saw a Vortech dyno'ing 530 rwhp, but only 10 more ft/lbs/tq, I have 426 ft/lbs/tq.
Also, you can get a sweet deal on the Mag., it's the hood and install that gets you. I strongly recommend a reputable tuner on any installation, such as MTI....you really need to know combinations and have a very astute understanding of what you are trying to accomplish...then how to lean on the safe side.
Be careful to not get to caught up in the numbers game.
$4250 for the blower (used).
$750 for install (by the cool guy who sold it to me).
$1k for tuning at MMS (plus plugs, wires, etc).
$XX to Andy for a fuel pump, boost-a-pump, etc.
And I'm pushing 250RWHP over my stock dyno of 355RWHP. Friggin' AMAZING.
