I figure I'm at the edge of safety with the stock internals. I'm going to degree my cam and have my heads done in the spring. I'm happy with my peak hp numbers, but there's room to bring up the torque.
You are pulling 571rwhp without forged internals? Yeah, I'd say thats asking for trouble - but if you are good for now, your pistons/rods are at their verge of breaking I'd say. Get those forged internals soon, and then up the notch.
Although I build a custom Procharger system that is hard to beat, I'll be coming out with a comparable Vortech system soon. It will be very much like my single front mounted intercooled Procharger. As a matter of fact, most of the components will be the same. Same intercooler, same plumbing and pulleys. Just the mounting bracket and spacers will be different. I'm working on a JT trim on a 427 right now.
At this juncture, I'd have to say the D1SC Procharger with my 8 rib custom single intercooler system is king of the hill. After I finish this Vortech? I may change my opinion.
wjats the best compression and boost ???? i have a magnassan unit....and will probably go with ten lbs. and may only up the boost by one pound??? any thoughts? tks
I don't think that you will get it to 10 lbs, 8 max with 9:01 compression. You will also need to run race gas at that level the intake charge will be to hot and the car will detonate if tune is not perfect.

Did you run Hoosiers or street tires? I would think that with your power you might have a hard time getting on the power out of the corners..
Even more impressive is that you had the stock radiator in. Your tune must be dead on! What peak water and oil temps did you see?
SuperZ, my apologies brutha. I just saw your questions on this thread.
I ran at Heartland Race Track in Topeka both times.
There was nobody in the same league on straightaways. I was never passed on any of my runs and in fact on one session I remember, I started off last on the track and passed every single car before the session was over including lapping one of the cars (passed him twice)
I was running 9.5 lbs boost with a rwhp of about 579, as I remember.
I was running on stock F1's and my water temps never got over 210 in any session. Sorry, don't remember my oil temps.

god damn this speech makes me hot!
it's probably not even fun to drive your car now, coz all others cars are like "whatever"
Where are you located in Mass? If you want a preview of the Vortech, I just got mine done at CARTEK. If you need a test drive to make up your mind, send me a PM...
One is me stock then one is with my bolt ons and the one in the middle is with the magnuson. With all the research that I did I found that the mag was the best for me.
