It was passed in March but it is now law that you can't drive around the street in the state of Virginia with a NOS system connected to your car. It can be installed but connected for use on the street.
I think it's a fair law. The way I read it if you just disconnect the supply line at the bottle and the connection is not within reach of the driver, your legal. Nitrous isn't for the street anyway!! No biggie!
No nitrous in BG Ed. Never opened the bottle. In fact haven't opened the bottle since I tried out the nitrous one time and shut it off about 2 months ago.

Don't want to ruin too many pair of silk underwear!!
I don't use Nitrous - never have and probably never will. But if I lived in Virginia, I'd be pretty p.o.'d. Is there no end to the meddling? Seriously, what's next? You can have a supercharger, but no belt allowed? All fuzzy dice must removed before placing car in gear?
You Virginians need to grow a pair and stop this cancer before it spreads.

Yeah, according to a couple of websites it's VA and DC only that have anti-detector laws (Hawaii and Alaska are listed as "not regulated").
You know the whole anti nitrous thing - and I'm not limiting the blame to imports, though that "scene" has certainly been a factor in the increased interest in N20 - came from the sudden explosion of street racing, and *movies* that made street racing popular culture, etc.
For the people who legislate laws, Nitrous = Illegal Street Racing, and honestly I see how they can come to that conclusion (which we all know is incorrect).
I've seen in the last 6 months on the Orlando news, dozens of stories about street racing busts, and several nasty accidents (a few resulting in deaths). And the coverage usually talks about "high powered street cars" (jump to video of Hondas), and the use of dangerous speed enhancers like NOS [sic] (cut to bottles in cars, stickers on cars, etc.)
I'm definitely not advocating street racing, but as usual, it's a few idiots spoiling the fun for the majority.
We continue to let the government increase regulations on our every day lives...pretty soon you won't be able to have a car with more than 150 HP because it's not needed and unsafe in some hands.
