Well, time for forged pistons, or a stroker...

My Z had been smoking a bit, so I bought a AMW catch can and installed it last Friday. Went on a 25 or 30 mile drive Saturday afternoon, and this is what I had in the can when I got home:

I knew it was just a matter of time before my rings let go at these power levels. This winter, I'll be doing forged pistons at minimum, or a 383 stroker at best. I'm gonna shoot for 700+rwhp, which should be pretty attainable with the T-trim and AFRs.

On another note, these AMW cans are a nice piece. I put mine on the battery partition since I don't have any room on the front of the head with the Vortech. AMW sells a bracket that will allow you to mount the can right on the front of the head, using existing threaded holes in the head. I bought the bracket, and cut it off to use as a mount on the back side of the partition:

Nice addition, Tom. Those things do work. Best of luck with the forged motor this coming winter!

Probably because of the blower -- too much power -- I take it off your hands for ya -- I'll even pick it in person!

j/k : good luck with the rebuild!

PS: What compression are you running with the AFR heads?

John.

I appreciate your concern for my well being John. If you do decide on a blower, I can point you to the right guy to do the install...

I'm at 10.1:1 CR
