0% and no waiting - YEAH!!!

Haven't posted here in quite some time (~3 yrs). Just sold my '02 last month and finally got the opportunity to move another notch up the food chain. Got a fair price and the new owner is luvin it as much as I did. Got a smokin deal in NorCAL with the 0% APR GMAC financing deal for 48 mos. Paymts are still outrageous for just a simple working class stiff, so may have to put the house in hock. The new C6 Z06 is by far the best Corvette I've ever owned, including the late great ZR-1. This is my 6th Corvette (3 - C4s and 2 - C5s before this one). Congrats to all you other Z06 owners - GREAT MINDS must think alike!

Congrats Man!!! Good for you. It is a bit of a struggle sometimes to stay in this game but it beats smoking crack!!! At least that's what I tell my wife! I just got into a C6Z also and it is a heck of a car. Enjoy and good luck. P.S. I put the house in hock too... Cars are my crack but I think crack may be cheaper... NAAAA Jim

Re: 0% and no waiting - YEAH!!!

Thanks Seamus and congrats to u too. These cars are a HABIT alright and we can never get enough of a good FIX. :-)

Btw, my first impressions are as follows:

- LS7 is to die for
- luv new fastback "coupe" body styling and chrome 10 spoke whs
- NAV system is really HOT!!!
- exh sound great, even the subtle flutter on decel
- I hardly notice CAGS anymore
- steering wheel controls FINALLY!
- On Star & XM radio are nice, esp now that cell phones w/o hands-free is illegal in CA
- gas mileage (on freeway) not too shabby esp for a 427 ci mill
- Ext Z06 emblems and seat backs embroidery, crossed flags on NAV and personalize welcome on DIC all nice touches for general braggin rights
- LS7 is to die for . . . oops, I said that already

The Z06 is a great, GREAT Corvette, as are all Corvettes . . . only an order of magnitude better than the rest of the breed. Almost bought a C6 base model, 'cause this platform is just that good. Tons of FUN to drive and man are we all sooo lucky to own such a magnificent BEAST.

Re: 0% and no waiting - YEAH!!!

I agree. Alot of nice new touches, a gentlemens hotrod! gas mileage on hwy is good at about 24 mpg being nice under 80. It's not as forgiving as the ls6 if you start having any fun, it will really suck it down. It is a big block! I miss the FRC but had to compromise for the upgrades. As time goes on and you start to use the Nav more I'll bet your opinion changes on the Nav. It sucks! I will probably swap it out for the new Avic eventually if I can still use the steering wheel controls. Have fun!!!

Re: 0% and no waiting - YEAH!!!

Glad to see you back dsinned. I remember years ago when I was a Mod sometimes there were only a few of us west coasters on line late at night.

Congrats on your new Z.

Re: 0% and no waiting - YEAH!!!

Mufflerbearing, I see there are still quite a few of the old timers still on this forum. I remember those (Sunday?) night chat sessions. I think "Zippy" was the guy who started those chats, and I see he is still here as active a mbr as ever. Z06vette.com is still a lot like I remember it from 3 years ago. With the suck ass economy I thought I was on my way out of this hobby, but with the recent purchase of a new Z06, this may be my last hurah. The Z06 is DEFINITELY A FUN CAR, but the financial stakes are just getting too high for the average working stiff. And now with the new ZR1 about to hit dealers' showrooms, the price of admission is going to be astronomical! These cars still have maximo B4B but their mass appeal is predominately to working class Americans. I'm sure glad another GMAC 0% deal came along, or I'd drolling over these super high performance cars at a safe distance from the sidelines. Anyway, its good to be back and THANKS!
