Sometimes the new car smell is worth it, sometimes it isn't. I tend to keep my toys a really long time, so I prefer new ones.

i usually buy new as well but an 06 with a ext warranty sounds nice. i am not sure the new tranny,etc? is worth the money?

60K is about average asking price for a 2LZ/NAV equiped 06. Just to keep things in perspective, you're looking at ~64K otd. How many miles?

If the 08 is a 1LZ car that is quite a mark up. If it's 2LZ with no other options, that's MSRP. If fully loaded, 78K otd is a hell of a deal!

the 06 is a individuals car so no tax for a 5000 mile 2lz nav silver with a extended warranty. i can order an 08 for 4000 off and another 1000 with my gm card. i feel like i could save around 18,000 plus could be driving now. instead of waiting on dealer allocation because my dealer did not get a z order this month. they only get about 3-4 z's a year.

A well cared for 5,0000 mile corvette where you save 18 grand over a new one would be my suggestion.

I believe there are two types or three types of corvette owners...

If the car your looking at is the color you want... and has the extended warranty and doesn't show any crash damage? If you feel the owner is one of those guys that truly cared for the car? Then go for the 18 grand savings..
