07 Z06 Key Fob

I have a "new" 07 Z06. The Key fob came with a key dangling. The key fob described and pictured in the manual is different. That one has the key inserted within the fob and you push a button to get it out? Why is mine different and not even discussed in the manual?

Re: 07 Z06 Key Fob

The one you describe sounds like the ones that came with my 2006 Z06. Perhaps someone swapped them on you. Does the key work OK in the hatch release?

Re: 07 Z06 Key Fob

You have the correct FOB.

'06 and '07 cars came with, and use, the same FOB. Although the FOB in your '07 owners manual shows the key integrated in the FOB, they were not available, and came with the key on a ring instead.

The '08 Z06 uses the integrated FOB as shown in your ('07) manual. However, an '08 FOB will work in '05-'07 cars. The slot in the glove box also works. Although the '08 keys work in '07 locks, you need to have the new key traced.

For '05 and '06 cars you need to purchase a new lock set in order to use the new key. You can purchase a lock set for the rear compartment and glove box, with new keys for the locks.

That sounds about right. I called a Chevy dealership last week and asked if they had a front O2 sensor for an '04 Z06. "They didn't make a Z06 in '04" was his reply.

Bose didn't make the radio, only the amps and speakers. Delco makes the radio and Delphi makes the nav system.

Re: 07 Z06 Key Fob

I understood that. The manual does contain errors and covers all models of Corvette, not just the Z06. I was simply stating who does make the radio. Meaning, contact Delco (good luck with that), instead of Bose.

Page 244 in the manual states "Your vehicle has seven Bose® amplified speakers. See your dealer for details." However, on page 246 it states "For additional information on AudioPilot®, visit www.bose.com."
