Is an 08 worth $8,000 more then 07

As many know there are considerable savings going with a new 07 instead of an 08. My dealer will discount an 07 $8,000 more then an 08. Are the changes on an 08 worth the extra $8,000?? I tend to lease so having a year newer vehicle is a mute point if I do not buy out the car at the end.
07's have a 1.9% lease rate for 3 yrs. while an 08 is 6.4.
These are the canadian discounts.

I second the that! Translation? And for a understandable translation I would say no way pay extra, the only difference is the center console trim. Just go out and purchase a Z06 thats the best deal, I just bought an 07 new for 12k off window sticker.

Not quite. The differences are in the transmission and gearbox. Smoother and more precise changes, plus an up graded transmission. (TR 6060 I believe) also the steering has been tweaked to produce more feel.

So that and the interior changes, which are minor, add up easily to the 8K difference.

I cannot tell you what that all feels like yet, as I have not receiced my Z06 '08 yet.

I don't think it is worth the 8m difference. The changes aren't that great. Actually around here 8m off a new 07 would be a great deal. Sure makes a tough choice between the Z and the base coupe with 436 hp. Lots of money left to spend on mods with the base coupe.

I have a hard time believing there is that much difference beween the two cars. I bet he is asking close to msrp for the 08. I doubt that he could get 8K less than an 08 from Kerbeck. That would be about 64K for a new 07. Canada pricing differs I guess.
Cheers.

With the Z06 you get aluminum frame, carbon fiber bodyparts, many things you don't get in a regular vette besides the 427 ci race engine. As far as being worth 8k more I disagree and doubt there is much difference in feel in the 07 and 08? Its the same basic trans with supposed upgrades, and the shocks were changed in 07 from the 06 ones which I thought were just fine.
But hey, to each his own.

With discounts being that good on the '07, I would go with that one. Anyway, I have a feeling this won't be your last Z06.

Re: Is an 08 worth $8,000 more then 07

I did it. I have secured a new 07 black Z06 built begining of June 07 for a great savings. All options including Chrome wheels, nav and onstar. I have to thank everyone for their input. I know the 08 has some definite changes but for someone that will not be racing this vehicle and simply enjoying it on the open road the 07 was the best decision. My hold out was the color black or yellow. Having had an 07 VY coupe I decided on a change. They are both great colors.
Picking up the car next Wed..
Thx again for all the input.

Best of luck! I just bought an 08 blk,nav and chrome also. I only have 700mls as of today and your gonna love it. I had some reservations driving my 03 up to trade it in. But the refinement and power are making me forget about the 03!! Just a little advice. The real break in for this baby is 1000 mls. It's mainly for the trans and rear. The dealer told me every guy who beats up on it too soon comes in w/ rear differential problems. Have fun! You did get the hottest color for this model.

Speaking of unusual pricing, I visited a dealership last week in Alabama and I saw a left-over new '07 for $87,000. They had a $10,000 mark-up that I believe they called "market value". I couldn't believe it!!
