I'm looking for input from people with both equipment packages as to the pros and cons of their experience with each.
I currently have my order as 2LZ but the more I think about it... for me anyways its a waste of money. The big highlights are the side impact airbags(nice), Enhanced Acoustic Package(WHATS THIS?, the extra sound deadning material?), heated seats(i live in the south), seat position memory(I should be damn near only one driving it for a long time), auto dimming mirros(heard those can go bad, had manual in every other car I've owned), compass in mirror(I navigate ships for a living, shouldnt need a compass), power telscoping column(isnt this why the seat moves anyways?), garage openers, cargo net, sun shade, and some other small items. Opinions...
I'm thinking about going with 1LZ, Navigation(not even for the nav, but cause it looks better(is it hard to see the screen with sun glare?) and has the premium sound system) and AO. I can use the money I save to get some HREs or Iforged rims. Considering black or comp grey to go with my AO. Hmmmm So many decisions
Sorry for the long post friends, but if you can help out anywhere please speak your mind. I really only have 2 questions in BOLDthe rest is just ya'll opinion. Hope everyone is having a great week!
Peace from the Eastern Mediterranean!
I ordered and took delivery last February a 1LZ car and I am very happy with it. For my use, the 2LZ is simply a waste of money. I did order the premium sound option with the 6-disc CD player.
I am a slightly larger person. 6'2"/290. The power memory seat helps me get out of my low sports car and the telescoping steering wheel makes the cockpit a little more comfortable. Also with the 072LZ, the carpeting is thicker in the back along with the sound deadening packs.
Whatever You Do, Get The Upgraded Stereo For Sure. It Rocks!!! In Retrospect, My 2lz Is A Bit Of A Waste Of Money. Just More Toys, And Does Not Change The Aspect Of What You Bought The Car For Anyways. Power, Speed, And Bragging Rights. It's Good To Be A Member Of "the 500 Club!!!!!"

It is probably best to think about your entire experience with the car. As you can see most of us will eventually sell our cars, for something newer/bigger/faster, etc. It seems, from past experience, that it would be easier to sell a car that has a few amenities. The next person may want the car for entirely different reasons, and you can enjoy the add-ons while you have it. Loaded cars sell for more.

I can say when i sold my 04 MY/ModRed Z, option delete. It brought a premium price over what i saw other 04's sell for.
Maybe just timing and the right buyer, or maybe, because it was pristine.
Nah... you never recover the additional original cost of the options.
Frank Gonzalez
You rarely recover the cost of any commodity that is partially used up. You get the options you can feel you might use.
In my own case I was not very price sensitive and I shouldn't imagine you would be either, so a few thousand here, or there wasn't an issue.
It is kind of like when I set up a brokerage, or mutual fund account and look a the options and say, "I'll never use that, and later on when I want to use the option that I thought I would never want, I have to have a Medallion signature guarantee by a bank VP, I say I will sign up for every option in the future.
I have the 2LZ and I like all the options. I use the Nav all the time. It has a lot of usable features more than just basic navigation. I'd recommend it.

My thinking is, why try to make a sports car heavier after the engineers did all they could to lighten it? I bought a stripper--built to my specs. It has polished wheels and I got museum delivery but no premium stereo or equipment package. The electronics are not very heavy, but some of the options add significant weight--like airbags and speakers.
I hardly ever listen to the radio--I like the engine and exhaust noise better.
If I could have picked specific options instead of a package, I would have liked to get the memory seat, compass, and programmable garage door opener. The nav would be nice if I did lots of traveling, but most of my driving is daily driving around town. But I didn't want all the other "stuff" and certainly don't miss it.
I also don't worry about resale--if that is a big concern, don't buy a new car!, because it will most definitely lose value. Buy what you will enjoy. And then enjoy it!
