If GM wants to dress up the interior, lose the visor stickers.
That won't happen as they are federally mandated in accordance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and most if not all newer vehicles have them for this reason. However, I too feel the 3LZ interior colors are atrocious.
Come on GM...I applaud the attempt but the execution misses the mark in my opinion. I would gladly pony up a bit more coin for an interior the were at least on par with it's main rival, the 911, but GM just has to do better. I agree with others who say the new decorative leather option looks like an add on, maybe C7 will hit the sweet spot.
While I am still offering CONSTRUCTIVE critisism let's talk about those seats, they have got to be less flimsy...and the LEAF springs?!....come on leaf springs? And the new Jetstream Blue Metallic is...well..UGLY. Bring back LeMans Blue please, or another darker shade that doesn't look so....well...1990's.
Corvette has come a long way, let's just keep pushing the ball up the field.
The leaf springs are adequate. In fact they are more than adequate. There is a lot to like about them in fact. They are mounted as low as possible which helps lower the CG. They add no unsprung weight. They are relatively light. They don't rust. They aid roll control by virtue of the fact they are mounted transversely and in fact is one of the reasons they were used in the first place. By doing so they can use a torsionally less rigid roll bar which gives a better ride without sacrificing handling. If they were to be invented today and used in the manner they are, they may be hailed as remarkable and the work of geniuses.
In addition, the car already performs quite well as evidenced by its lap times when compared to many other cars, even those costing far more.
Can it be improved by the use of coilovers? Yes, although you are raising the CG and adding unsprung weight. They also require more maintenance and are potentially noisier. There are also more adjustments to be made and they can be trickier to setup properly, especially in a production setting.
Given the above, please state again why you don't like them. Perhaps it's the color?
Hey No Doubt thanks for the insight on the leaf springs, given the attributes you mentioned they may not be as big an issue.
In the spirit of the Corvette brotherhood, I will allow the remark about the COLOR of the leaf springs to slide...no airstrike on your pos today...maybe.
Really, where I'm going with the suspension is that all of the benchmarks for handling to the best of my knowledge all have some sort of coil-over/upper lower control arm setup(ie. 911,Lotus,Ferrari,BMW,Viper ). Does the C6R have a coil-over setup?
The C6Z has a reputation for being a bit of a handfull at/near the limit, which was addressed by changes to the shock setup. I just wonder if with the C7 the leafs will stay or go?
Thoughts.
If GM had offered more color choices and in solid colors instead of just the sienna and linen two tones they might be able to sell more of this all leather option. To me neither one is attractive enough to spend the additional money.

It's stock they all sound like that
it looks horrible in pictures, but believe me guys it's different when you see it in real life it's much much better i love the stiching. maybe the color choice is not the best but believe guys go and see one in real life you will love. i saw the black/ white combination interior on 08 Z i think it's beautiful.
proexpert, get please post higher resolution pictures. you cannot judge the car from these pictures. even with higher resolution picture it doesn't look as good as in real life.
Our local dealer has the sienna color in a 08 Z and I think its ugly. I really wanted the car til I saw that and its like $4000 upgrade! I will look for one with all black!

Re: 3LZ with Linen
The Sienna interior looks awesome to me, although I've notn seen it in person. I did see a linen 4lt coupe in person and I loved it. The Sienna should look even better.
Leather is my thing... the smell of a new Cadillac or (to a lesser degree) Benz or (one of my favorite factory leather smells) Porsche is great. The new Boxster RS60 Spyder has an awesome aroma and a lot of leather. It was the car I ultimately chose the Z06 over... However, I hardly find EVERY Porsche interior to be all that great, in base trim its fairly germane.
Its a start. And a bargain to me. I'm working on finding some way to get this done to my 2LZ car... But in black/red.
