I used to own a quicksilver 01 Z06 back in 05. I have had a few other cars since, but have been mesmerized by the C6 Z since it first appeared in the mags. I even came as close to buying a lemans blue C6 a few years ago, but held back cause I found myself browsing for wide body panels and bumper kits...
Well the wait is slowwly coming to an end, and I get to pick up this garage queen of a Z06 tomorrow or Thursday!
When I went for my test drive on Saturday, a heavily track prepped 996 Porsche 911 pulled behind me. This thing had a full body kit, wheels, roll cage, sparco seats and the sputter of a straight-ish pipe exhaust. I pulled away from the light with some gusto, and left him behind as he was trying to keep pace. Perhaps I caught him off guard, but moments later he evened up to me shaking his head in approval, and the bait hooked deep in..
As the red mist kicked in, I peered at the salesman who looked like he had just seen his grandmother in her skivvies, from the idea of a drag race, so I refrained from indulging... I passed the first test, but I think I got (lemans blue) balls from not being able to run him!!
I can already see that everyone wants a shot at the title...
