I am in a long wait for my Yellow Z06 in the coming Aprill.In most videos, since there in no Z06 around in my town,you can hear a distinctive wistle from the intake of the engine.Is this really happening.Why is that, after all it is a N/A car.This think sounds like a charger.Please share this info with me.Kind regards.....

Mine has the whistle sound as well. I think it's normal.

Mine doesn't whistle...all I hear is air being sucked into the intake at a Great rate!!

I think it's air going through the throttle body Idle Air Control valve. It was prevelant on the C5's as well.

Welcome to the gang of Z06 nuts. You have a long wait but it will be worth it. I had a 5 month wait also.

About your question on the whistle...I never noticed it on mine. Perhaps the videos accentuated some frequencies...the engine sounds majestically mechanical.

no whistle on my 07z i remember on my 01 with the hall tech tric when it was cold (open loop) i got a whistle until it started to warm up and went to closed loop then it was fine

I hear one all the time!!!!

I've never heard any whistle from either the C5Z I had or C6Z I have now, but one of my neighbors says the new Z is a lot quieter than the C5 was.

Whistle? Thats the air running away from the car. The car does not whistle.

My 02 & 04 did whistle..But I did not notice them until my sons pointed it out to me...I have not heard my 07 whistle but I will listen now..It's probably what BluZbrutha said !!!

My Z06 is 9 months old. Yesterday I fired her up in the garage just to
find out if I could hear a whistle if I was really trying to detect it. I
opened the driver side window and reved the motor to about 2500 and
let off of the gas. The result was hearing a faint whistling noise as the
RPMs dropped. My Z whistled.

Mine whistles at pretty cars as they go by.
