You posted this in the wrong forum . . . but I'm not surprised a "fully loaded" coupe stickers close to 60k. Btw, finding an '08 with the dual roof option is quite a find this late in the year. Strippers would likely sell for under 40k, but remember all '08s have the new 430 (or with optional perf exh, 438) Hp LS3. Paddle Shifter adds an extra $1250 to the sticker, NAV $1750, Chromies $1895, etc. If all you want is a performance oriented C6, a stripper with Z51 provides the max B4B. In many ways the very best deals still out there, are on "regular" C6 Corvettes, not on the Z06s. Although good deals on ANY "leftovers" due to so much excess inventory, and generally terrible economic and market conditions, are widespread and just sitting there for the taking. It is TOTALLY A BUYERS MARKET right now, and never been a better time to be a C6 buyer with good credit.
Thanks for the input. The car won't be for me. My fiance's dad is looking for one. He's got a 95 right now and looking to upgrade to an 08 1LT, JSB, Z51, 6 spd, with bi-mode. So pretty much a "stripper" for a Vette. My local dealer here has found 2 cars w/i 300 miles. The sticker is $50,500 and one with chrome wheels and exterior package for $54,535. Just need to see what some of the 08's are selling out there.
Check Jeff Hardy website for your area and you'll have online access to the window stickers of all unsold 07, 08 and 09s. That really is a GREAT resource for shopping around.
Also, tell your future Father-in-law, to check on dealer "incentives" in your area. There may be another GMAC financing incentive for 0% (48 mos.) taking place till the end of the month.
Mike you are absolutely correct. Now is definately the time to buy a new vette. I have been thinking about getting a new Z, and i have been listening to all of the advice under my "professional opinion" thread. And the search BEGINS! good luck on the purchase.
I seen 08 range from 50k - 58k (depending on mileage and options)
Auto trader had a 08 2LZ for 50k few days back. Maybe they still do, have not look at it today
(search Z06 any distance, 2008-2009, 49000-51000 range and you will find it)
But, you guys are right, now it is time to buy. I think interest rates will drop lower in next few months. Between now and March is probably good time to buy for sure
GOOD LUCK
