saw this thread on the Viper web site-looks like someone took a new C6 Z06 out for a joy ride before it was delivered to it's new owner. Personally I would be PISSED.
I hope they catch the bum and make him buy the car - what a crap thing to do!

Unbelieveable stupid thing to do!
In Michigan, the new car buyer has an "odometer reading" form you sign before taking delivery. Always read it and be sure the odometer reflect the same number BEFORE signing the purchase agreement.
I hope the intended owner discovers what happened and refuses delivery!
You never know what will happen to your car on the way to the dealer. I saw a nice pickup smashed into a wall when it was being driven off the transporter. I checked back later to find the smashed truck in the body shop with a ton of plastic on it's fender. Someone should have taken a short rope to both of these idiots. No respect for another persons property what so ever.

Yes, there are several different wheel options for the C6 Z.
I sincerely hope that someone informs GM or the dealerships that do business with that guy what he's been doing. It's absolutely absurd to think that he can take out someone's car just because it sits on his lot while awaiting transport to the dealer. Some people argue that it won't hurt the car, but that's not the point. He didn't have permission to drive someone else's car around, whether at full throttle or just limping around town.
The problem with refusal of delivery is that the C6 Z is hot enough that the dealership will sell it again in very short order (assuming price is competitive). This guy needs to be dealt with.
Gee, I hope it wasn't mine that I just picked up from a dealer in Pennsylvania this past Thursday.
Rest assured Dragon, it wasn't your car. The original poster stated that the joy ride occurred on Friday.
BTW, did anyone notice that the picture of the Z06 and delivery guy was reversed?

Dragon, I'd be interested in how many miles were on your car when you picked it up, the usual is here in canada around 10 kms or 6 miles, if this guy took your car for the weekend you would have unusually high miles say 20 or more.. If thats the case I would definately backtrack your z06 delivery and pursue whatever make this guy pay a price, He would definately lose any prospect of holding GM cars..
