For those who use a battery tender do you take the battery out of the car and hook up the tender?
Or do you just leave the battery hooked up to the terminals in the car, and attach the tender as well? Is it okay to hook the tender up and leave it while the battery is still connected to the car?
When I get done with my monthly drive, I pop the hood, hook up the tender to the terminals and leave it for another month. Battery lasted 8 1/2 years. Maybe it was the tender, maybe just a good battery.
With the Z06 I have the pig tails contected all the time and just plug in when I need the tender hooked up. I leave the hatch cracked open, and it seems to work out perfect.
I use the cigatette ligher plug-in adapter. My son does the same with his GT3. Works fine for both of us. I see no need to remove or disconnect battery. perhaps others have had other experiences, though.

Works great, just crack the drivers side window and put the Battery tender in a cardboard box on the floor next to the car.
I've used the pigtails on my C5Z for 2 years. Just plug it in.
Just make sure you do something to remind you it is hooked up. (I leave my hood released so it just sits on the latches). Don't want to forget and drive out with it connected.

Bought the tenders and the adapters a couple of times (gifts) on-line from BatteryMart in Winchester, VA. Very good customer service. Google "battery + winchester, va" and they should come up.
I have the battery tender plus and am very happy with its performance. Works like a champ. I use the ring tongue leads on the motorcycle and use the alligator leads on the battery in my 70. I ordered one for my Brother In Law for Christmas this year.

under the top of the fuse box is the positive post and negative goes
to exhaust bolt at the front of block.C6 z06's only c5 z06's don't
have them
So you can hook the tender to the posts under the fusebox under the hood? instead in hooking directly the trunk battery terminals? Any harm in doing it this way?
