Bot 08 Z last night (pic) and Have a couple of Questions

Went to see what a Black Z looked like and was blown away. Been looking for a while. I was in no rush, but they were empty and clearly had a bad month. I got flat out invoice plus $389 doc fee, and even though $71k for 2lz, nav and chromies, they are getting me comp grey addition rims for cost. And I owe the good deal to a couple of great threads about cost on here. Thanks.

That said, I have a couple of questions.

First, should the new tranny be a little sticky getting it into gear or is this a symptom of coming problems? It had 5.7 miles on it.

Second, I have to take it back as there was a star in the windshield from transport (on truck or train), and they are offering (a) Guidepoint at $995 (is it a good service? Will they react if my car moves without autority?); (b) both exterior paint coat for $399 (and throwing in interior job on that too)? Are these things worth getting when this is a 3rd car and will likely stay in garage and won't be sitting at the Metro parking lot every day.

Much appreciate it guys. I really like this site, as there is very limited pretension. I'll listen now or respond if you need additional info!

Congrats on the new ride. Not sure what a guide point is, but if it's one of those paint protections, don't waste your money. You can do these things yourself for a lot, lot less.

Thanks for the comment about the tranny. That is what I was

thinking, but wanted to deal with it if it was a red flag for a potential problem.

Guidepoint is a GPS based theft protection system that they are still trying to sell me.

One other question. Can anyone recommend how to protect your wheels from being stolen. Thanks.

Congratulations on the '08Z
Two of my club members with black C6Z's were at Koons yesterday for the NVCC show.
I'd take a pass on the exterior/interior protection ... you can do fine on your own. You might think about clear bra ...
You can get wheel locks but the best thing is to not leave it out at night in an area without surveillance. Guy in your area had his Z thrashed in the housing area several months ago ...

Congrats on the new ride. Got a black one myself. Don't wate your money on the paint protection..go get a bottle of Rejex for $20...best thing going right now. McGard wheel locks from Summit Racing. You'll be all set.

Congrats on the new car. I'm also not sure what Guidepoint is, but don't get any paint protection or seats/interior protection - not worth it.

Black on Comp Grey wheels looks

Alexandria Cheverlot in Alexandria VA was great. They are getting a 427 edition soon

but I doubt they willl let it walk for invoice. Highly doubt. I think what helped me is that they have additional allocations, and that is why they are getting the 427SE. It was also a gloomy sAt. and end-of-the-month.

The General Sales manager is Jeff Wells. Call them and talk to him. He is a nice guy.

Denny M, I have seen Koons advertising, but where

are they located and what events do you guys have with the club. I have two young kids, so won't be hanging out, but it might be fun to drop in and yack with some other Z owners. Thanks, Chris.

Re: Bot 08 Z last night (pic) and Have a couple of Questions

Koons is out at Tysons ... event was last Sunday. Northern VA Corvette Club has cruises as well as track events.
There's an all-car cruise-in out in Manassas on a regular basis ... i think there's a thread here --- Panzer here knows and goes.
Baltimore County Corvette Club is having a big show Sat, 14th ...

there are ways....2X10's, jacking pucks...or just have a good relationship with your dealer and they'll hook it up for you. Mine does.
