OK, now that several of you have c6zs on the street and hind site is 2020 are there any regrets? Let's say would you rather go back to the c5z if it had a 427?? How about looks? Handleing?
I have both also...I still prefer the looks of the C5, and the more I look at it since getting the C6Z I enjoy the color and looks even more...Having said that, the 2007 is a better car in every regard...

I had a c5 convertible for 6 years, and I took a Bob Bonduraunt driving course with a c5 zo6.(I highly reccomend this course, as it is a lot of fun, and you learn a lot!!!) I think it's safe to say that there is no comparison between the C5&C6. My 2007 Z out acelerates, out handles, and overall outperforms any thing else I've ever driven (Including the dodge Viper) I enjoyed the styling of my C5 very much, however, the C6 Z, looks downright mean!! It looks like a regular C6 on steroids.

2007 VR 2LZ POLISHED ALUMINUM ........I THINK I'M IN LOVE....:
NO REGRETS!!!!!!!!! I had an 01Z for 5 and a half years and 49k miles. I loved every moment. It had its moments in the shop for warranty repairs and defects including the famous sticking brake pedal (bad vacuum booster), 02 rering, two separate diff axle seal R/R's, AC compressor, etc. However I am really loving the new Z because it is more powerful and a much more refined car than the previous generation. I don't miss the 01 at all.
What I would like to know from the C6Z owners is the comparison between a modded C5Z (H/C) and a stock C6Z. I am in the market for a C6Z, but was wondering how it would compare given a person has a modded C5Z that puts out more power than the C6Z (Stock).
I know, it comes with a warranty and such and if you were to mod the C6Z it has a ton more power given the 427. That is why I am getting one.
But, would just like to hear individuals opinions on this as well.
If you want a car for just speed buy some mustang 5.0 and mod the hell out of it.
When I got my C6Z it was the middle of last winter. There was no possibily of playing with its performance. This was good in that it made me realize all the reasons this car was so superior to the C5Z. My C5Z ran high 11's.....if this C6Z had less power and ran mid 13's I'd still prefer it over the C5Z. Just a much better car all around.
I had a 2002 C5Z and loved it. I recently sold it, after having both and comparing back and forth for about 4 months.
I do have regrets--the C6Z is more refined, more powerful, better looking (maybe) and has some neat tech stuff not available on C5s.
BUT... Sometimes I think the C6Z has fewer opportunities for fun, because it needs more road to open it up, there are correspondingly fewer cars around able to offer any competition, and the combination of higher gearing plus bigger tires makes it less likely to spin the tires accellerating in 2nd gear (which I always seemed to love).
In other words, the C6 is much faster, but the C5 sometimes seemed to be more fun. If money were a major factor, a $30,000 C5Z is a much better buy than a $70,000 C6Z. Since I wasn't worried about the money, I finally decided to keep the C6--overall I like it a little better.

I understand what you are saying, but I do not think that you answered my question. I do not drag race the car, but on other forums, guys are saying the the C5Z (modded) was a much better track car. From guys that have them, is this true?
Thanks for the reply.

The longer I own & drive the new C6Z, the more crazy I get abt it . It's now making abt 480 RWHP (headers/tune/F1 filter/tune).
My C5Z was awesome as well (400 RW bolt-on car), but it just can't compare to the C6Z.
I for one, think the C6Z styling is out of this world too...
