Re: Corvette/Z06 recall

It is not old news in that all those roofs that were re-glued also need replacement now as the glue used for the fix degraded

I see. That's good info. Mine has already been replaced. They reglued it the first time and it didn't work, so they replaced the roof on the second try.

Re: Corvette/Z06 recall

I just left my local Chevy dealer, and they know nothing about the second recall.

Re: Corvette/Z06 recall

I heard this on the news last night, interesting!
The roller rockers potentially have the wrist pin ending up in your oil pan, but, don't worry since this in itself won't nuke your motor from what I've heard. I have a turbo and the rockers have been fine.
The 02 Z06 was a cover up for the 01's loose rings that they never admited. They put in tighter rings which would take power and added other things to beef it back up for a little more, and they think some of us didn't see that! I guess its all caught up to them now!

Re: Corvette/Z06 recall

I thought the roof was fixed on the C6Z06's for stiffness with brackets, but, if they are just glued the torque of the body roll is probably ripping the joint apart over time, Dah! I wouldn't have designed that with glue!

Re: Corvette/Z06 recall

GM has a tech bulletin posted somewhere on here before that effects basically all C6's (I'm not sure about the regular vettes, but I think it's all frames, fe and al) where they will creak when changing road height like going into a driveway from a road at a different height. If all else is ruled out, it is likely the frame is defective. It came out about 2 yrs ago and was proactive to 2010, in other words, the Dana frames known to be possibly bad were still used from their inventory on cars made after the bulletin. This is what I took from the statement. Sorry I don't have it on me, but you can find it as easily as I. It was posted on this forum. It is not a recall.
