No problem. I will admit I didn't care for their biased reporting against the Z06 since I have owned this one since September, 2005,

But also found the article and video of some interest since I have one like this on order.

So I will soon own the # 3 and 4 cars in their test. That's ok, I think the GTR is abolutely ugly. I will admit the GT2 would be nice if you had the money.

They should have kept the FRC body style. That's the problem.

Re: Corvette Z06 v Viper SRT10 ACR v GT-R v 911 GT2

forget the 4th place, or any place. so much subjective junkola in C&D rankings.

I'm just impressed by Z06 -vs- GT2. Thats, according to Motor Trend, the fastest Porsche ever including the Carerra GT. Its a porsche, a 911, a supercar and $200k and loud and stripped itnerior and non-adjustable racing seats and not comfortable and brutal riding (all gathered from the review)...

we're a set of tires and an alignment from being as fast around a track or in a straight line???

To me, thats just pricelessly cool.

And I wonder if the ACR is simply the fastest track car ever put on the street under $300k? Any price?

I totally don't get the c and d rankings...The topic was "extremists"...If the Viper was fastest in every respect, what the f is the debate about? Interior smell?

Re: Corvette Z06 v Viper SRT10 ACR v GT-R v 911 GT2

Anyone who puts much faith in magazine ratings is foolish IMHO.

I don't care which car mag it is and I don't car who the 'winner' is (even the Z06), if you really think there is no bias in their 'rankings' then you have more faith in the media than I do.

Even worse is buying/selling a car because of what someone wrote in a mag article or some mag picked 'winners' and losers'.

Sometimes I wonder if we are all just lemmings going over the cliff because someone told us to

I think you can't lose no matter which one of these four cars you go with. If someone were to give me one of these cars.... let's just say that I wouldn't complain - not one bit.

Anyone who owns one of these cars has good taste, imo. Don't bash me for liking the GT-R.

Re: Corvette Z06 v Viper SRT10 ACR v GT-R v 911 GT2

We have a customer who owns 2 GT2's , a 599 Ferrari , a GT3 RS, etc.......

His son fried the clutch on one hard launch of the GT2....you could smell it for hours. These cars are not easy to drive fast and I believe a 7 tenths driver could drive the ZO6 faster on the track.....until he tried for the extra 3 tenths. I believe that is what's happening in some of these tests. The GT-R is the easiest to drive fast up to the 10 tenth's point. But some one familier with the cars will be faster in the other 3. Does that make sense ??
By the way I have had an IMSA license and a FIA license, and a SCCA National license.....I have never had the opportunity to compare these 4 cars in a similar situation. Never for the GT-R. And I have been in or seen all but the GT-R pushed very hard. But I do know I would rather put my helmet on in a Vette or Viper if I was trying to go fast.
Just my experience and opinion.

Definitely. I don't think you can drive two cars in the same manner. They each have their own "character".
