Hmm. The exhaust looks familiar. I don't think these body parts are near the production pieces.

You can really see the point of the nose in that first one

Plus the deep angled cuts in the rear facia are more apparent....

Those front fenders however are only partially correct

The front fenders appear to be made of another material. Or a different finish coat of paint.

The C6 is hiding under all that plastic somewhere.
I believe the front fenders are panels over the real fenders, the roof in every photo I've seen does not line up, and the nose is way oversized as is the rear.
They have disguised them real well.

Man, this is fun stuff. I am like a kid before Christmas! This is my first "generation" change. I wasn't a big fan of the C4 - did you guys go through all of this speculation for the C5 ?

I think GM is enjoying this too. They are bringing packages before us all wrapped up and we can't figure out what is underneath the wrappings !

Everything I've read that seemed to be from reliable sources said that the front/rear overhangs were shorter. The car in these pictures looks like it's pretty much unchanged in this regard, from the C5.

Unfortunately most Corvette fan sites did NOT exist during the mid 90's. The internet was still in its infancy. I do not think there was this much anticipation for the C5 as there is now for the C6 - in most part due to sites like these and the internet. By 96/97 the internet had boomed a bunch, but "forums" hadn't. By now 03 - the www has seriously boomed and it makes 93-97 numbers look like an ant vs a human.

I am still waiting to see the photo of some crazed C6 guy like myself running up to the car and ripping off the padding.

Lots of styrofoam and panels over panels, these cars are hidden underneath it all real good.
Just like adding a wing, or spoiler to our own C5s, the C6 is under there. Just takes body molding tape to stick the phony panels on.
Front fender are not real and I have my doubts about the rear fenders, looks like a wide body kit as the doors (that are real) are set in more than the fenders.
