Thanks for the info. I would love to see a 2800# or less car with 450 to 500 horse. OMG, I'm getting excited now. I shouldn't do that to myself.

that would be great, but with CF comes cost, hopefully they do not price the new Z out of everyone's range...

I agree. If they add 15 - 20k to the price, it changes things. At least for me.

I love my Z06 now, but wish I could be in the market for a new one! Work hard to get your dream car then they have to go and make a better one =( Guess that's the nature of things.

Guess I could always go get a CF widebody from ACP and a 427 C5-R motor!

Norman,

It's okay for you to get excited. Just make sure you have tissues in your hand.

I expect the general will make the Z06 to fit the needs of the ZR-1 crowd and price it out of the normal persons range. Don't know if that is good or bad. Short of developing a new car to compete with the Viper and GT what choice does GM have?? I just don't see them making the Blue Devil cheaply.
I think the CF hood on the 04's was a test and tune for upcoming stuff. Once they get the technology perfected then more panels will be made the same way.

Oh great! That's just what we need, Norman to start flaunting by posting pics. of his new C6 Z06 while some of us have to save up a little longer for one. As if the pics. of all the little hotties in his car wasn't rubbing it in enough. Gheesh. J.K.

as long as they don't change the price of the "base" variants, there are plenty of people around (if they price the XLR at $80k) who would buy a more expensive and more exclusive C6 z06. H2s and GMC yukons prove that there are enough takers at the $50k pricepoint. what's not to say there still won't be plenty at the $60-$65k pricepoint?

I don't care what they do as long as the hp is there. However, if they are going for the zr1 crowd, then they will be making the same mistake twice. And when are people going to stop talking about a blue devil. It ain't in the cards.

Are you saying that the ZR1 was a mistake from a consumers perspective. If so, I beg to differ. I expect the new Z to be priced close to that of the ZR1. If new Z06 is what they are portraying that it's going to be, It will far surpase that of the ZR1's performance anyway. So why wouldn't they ask the same price? If not even more........I expect $70-75k +++

Hasn't ten years worth of inflation passed since the 70 grand ZR1?

500hp /under 2900 lb curb weight..dry sump oiling system...20 inch rims..all for under 70 grand..

I believe its 20 % more than todays Z06 Z16 C5?

Sounds like a pretty decent deal to me considering whats supposedly going into this new car..?

I misunderstood. Yea, if they can keep it to the 90s price of the zr1 or there abouts, I can handle it. If they go up to 80+, I don't know. It depends on what I'll be getting. It will have to be rather spectacular at 20 to30+k above base
