The first and best 'mod' is always seat time, on a track. During which time you'll spend a fair amount of money on brake pads, rotors, tires and fluids, stock or otherwise.
The next step would be additional brake cooling (cooling ducts), perhaps a larger radiator, lower temp thermostat and a tune that optimizes coolant temps.
After that, if you haven't already, aftermarket wheels sized for race rubber. By this time you may start thinking about a car trailer and a means of towing it.
At some point safety items need to be considered. This includes a seat, harness, HANS device or similar and perhaps roll protection. I am not a fan of harness bars, however.
After you've done all of that you may want to consider suspension modifications. But be aware, engineering a suspension is not as simple as bolting on some parts and calling it good.
The bottom line is, if you have the money there are many ways of spending it without suspension mods.
