And I'm gonna WAX your new 418's AZZ Jimbo.....lol Only Pete Incaudo can save you from watching tail lights of a couple Black Z's and one old guy in a Blue one..haha
Pit
oh wait that is a whole different stereotype. It is like the Elephant park guy told Mrs. Simpson, Elephants are like people, some are just jerks!
I'd say if you are young and can afford a new Z06, you are doing just fine. I wouldn't worry about what Guido thinks. And if you are Guido, then don't worry about what the rest of us think. (I'm sooo bad, and I'll be even badder when I get my new Z06 to replace my 67 L-36).
And Pit Man is gonna be looking at this "old mans" tail lights all day long at Beech Bend! (and yes, my car is blue too!)
Jimbo

Drew....the Z06Fest is as all the others have mentioned! Heck, at 3:00am one morning there were still six of us partying! The ladies shunned their bras and put them on a C5Z06 that had a huge wing on the back. Pics were taken, but they were probably lost back in the server crash of 2006.
Where in Jersey are you, I travel to the Moorestown area on a regular basis and would love to hang with another Vette guy.
BTW, as someoone who has almost 125,000 miles on my 01 Z, I definitely believe in the "drive the weheels off it" attitude.
also, as one of the ring leaders for the Z06Fest, I can guarandammtee you the best 4 or five days of your life if you make the trek to BG. We do more "spirited" driving in that weekend (Makers mark WART Road Tour, drag racing, autocrossing, and HPDE) than most Vette owners do during their owneership of the car.
As Jim Lembo said, "come to the Fest once, and you will never miss another one again, promise..."
Hell, he's asleep right now...noon nap..lol Where are you Ernie ? Man if you do that crap at the Tree, team Pit is gonna lose !!!
Start waxing that Blue Streak Jimbo (your gonna need the xtra aerodynamics) !! Polish that new 3" exhaust also...we don't wany any wind resistance under the car

Well, Drew ... to quote Will Rogers ... "It's all been said, but I haven't had my chance to say it."
Don't let the attitudes and opinions of others dampen your enthusiasm for life!
Now, if the crazies up in the NE can get it together, there MIGHT be a decent NE caravan to the Fest ... mebbe even a red non-Z06 with "attitude" driven by Deb "Trynkeepup" can lead for a while! ... and Mike (WVPhoto) might set up a Charlestown stop to rearm and refuel before the final run into BG ... and yeah ... sometimes the flight plan down 65 approaches Warp speed ...

Me too... I got my first ticket in about 5 years today. 74 in a 55. I actually drove the speed limit for a while after that. It was...like...weird.
I almost began to regret my purchase, then I hit the start button and forgot what I was thinking.
PS, I, like some on this thread, speak their mind on the forums, making people uneasy and reactionary. Others just read the forum and are calm, and don't drop the clutch and never speed or swear. But it's all just BS (with some awesome info in between mind you). It reminds me of a corner bar with a bunch of guys drinking beer and BS-ing. You better take everything with a shaker of salt on the web. And might I add, treat people on the road and on the web like they're standing in front of you. Hey, that sounded good, maybe I'll try it myself.
Well said. I may add, that when I see an older guy driving his Z06 in the right lane an 55mph (or slower) I feel like driving him off the ***edited*** road. The car is meant to be driven hard. Nobody cares that you saved you pennies for 50 years to buy your American dream car. More people are laughing calling you "that idiot in his mid-life crisis" lol. It's definitely a cult-like community. Border-line weird. & Don't wave at me, unless its a signal to race. I bought this car because it's brutally fast. Thats it. It has creeks and cracks, my stereo (at normal volumes) rattles my dash board, god forbid you get your brakes wet after driving 100ft... they warp like an earthworms on a hot piece of pavement in the sun. Its just a big fast go cart. Nothing more. It doesn't compare to Lambos, or even BMW's... as far as smoothness, comfort, etc. My next car will be the new M5 when it comes out. In the mean time, I do love it. Its definitely the most fun Ive had in a sports car so far. (when it's not at chevy for an alignment, or getting the rotors recut, or getting the tires re-balanced, etc)

OK Bro,
As said before, forget about labels! Hang with the people you feel comfortable with. Very few of the members here are shiners...........
Not that that, is a bad thing!
I agree, otherwise we'd be talking about the stereotype that everyone has about people from Jersey.

whoa. for all you know, that old guy in the right lane may be getting a rolling Lewinski. Think about it. Everyone has their priorities on the road. Courteous speed, that's mine.

i am near morristown (up north) if you guys want to get together there is a J&R cigar shop in whippany on route 10 that i always have get to gethers at. parking is big and no one bothers you, food is good, they have a full bar and allow smoking of cigars and cigs indoors!

the old guy in the right lane could be the one in the you tube vid i love with the LPE vette that just rapes an AWD talon or eclipse. it is one of the best and menacing vids out.
it's more the general corvette stereotype. the mid life crisis "Page Ranking#@K". it is a shame but oh well i still love the car just going to not look for meets shows and others who own the same car. and i thought the bimmer crowd that i used to be in was pompous! boy was i wrong. and yes i know that not everyone is the same. it is just the few experiences so far have been pretty bad.
oh and on a side note are these cars made of sugar? cause if there is even a hint of rain most will not even consider driving the car. i expect to drive mine year round and have fun doing it.
This is why I am a member of two Corvette Clubs, well in fact one, and a "Car" Club. One I go to for "days out, and drive around the country side type weekends with my wife", the other is more hard core track. And I use mine every day. So I think I have it covered. Especially when a GT 3 driver asks me if I have a compressor on board - Nope, I am faster and half the price is all. Loving it!
Keep at it, at stay away from the polisher shows. Many on this forum are hugely knowledgeable and race, drag or otherwise do hairy things with their Corvettes.
