i love the car, but am beginning to loathe the community. i have had several bad experiences so far while dealing with people in the z06 community. i hope there is a brighter side.....
i'd rather not get my blood boiling thinking about it. but i can tell you so far i feel the stereotype is pretty spot on. maybe i am just used to a different crowd but it seems like if you have an opinion that differs from the norm you get shunned. and i'll tell you what for an older crown people act much more childish then do the younger people today.

It's true. Some Z06 owners can be immature, unruly, egotistical, sarcastic, know-it-all, smart asses. Glad I'm not like that!
Sorry to hear about your bad experiences. Don't let it ruin you day.

I assume you mean the stereotype that we are all rich, ruggedly handsome and debonair and are all hung like horses. Is that the one?
Like Alice in Wonderland, this conversation is getting "curiouser and curiouser"
Mike
it's more the general corvette stereotype. the mid life crisis "Page Ranking#@K". it is a shame but oh well i still love the car just going to not look for meets shows and others who own the same car. and i thought the bimmer crowd that i used to be in was pompous! boy was i wrong. and yes i know that not everyone is the same. it is just the few experiences so far have been pretty bad.
oh and on a side note are these cars made of sugar? cause if there is even a hint of rain most will not even consider driving the car. i expect to drive mine year round and have fun doing it.

lemme guess...you've been hangin' out on the other corvette site

No. But they are pretty sweet. I drive mine every day.

well that is a given. actually i go to a bunch of them. but only one has decent traffic so i kind of have stuck with that one for a bit. that is another thing i noticed that the corvette sites don't move very quickly. on my old forums if i were to post something in 20 minutes it would have a few pages of posts or be buried on page 4. oh well those days are gone.

this may be true and a little naive on my part as i like to know as much and as fast as possible about the car i drive. i used to know every detail of my old car and i had take almost everything apart on it at least once. i can fall victim to this as i young and am trying to fit into a new crowd. i seem to be a round peg trying to fit in a square hole. lol

I tried that once myself but I was very young and she was kinda......well, never mind. That is a story for another day
Gotta tell you, don't go to many Vette shows myself. It's not the attitude so much as it is the boredom. I feel like someone should start up a poker game or a touch football game just to have something to do. But that's just me......

I have to admit, I get tired of looking at the polishers. LOL
I tell you what......if you make it out to the Z06Fest, that means joining in with the NE caravan so you get the full experience from start to finish, I have a feeling that your opinion will change. Especially of the people here.
There are "the uppity types" all through life, they don't necessarily drive 'Vettes. Here in the Annapolis area the Corvette drives are much like you mentioned, ah it's going to rain, I can't drive the car. I didn't fit well around there either with the bump stick I had, the loud exhaust and trying to talk to them about actually "driving" the car.....like Summit Point, Capital Dragway, VIR, etc.
Now don't get me wrong, that was 75% of the crowd in the area......and I'm sure in your area it's the same. You just have to "look" for the crowd.
