Improved Color Choices

I am dissapointed in the color choices available for the corvette overall. If I am going to spend 46-70 grand MSRP on a car I should have a much better selection than what the General has been dishing out lately. The 60's had a better selection of colors than what we have. Mossport Green was a great one! Come on GM get your act together "step out of the box" and do something different than blue, yellow, red, white, silver, black, maroon and an orange that they used on trucks a few years back.

Can't GM live a little and splurge on some new modern colors for us? Electron blue was the only novel color to come out in a long time for a corvette.

The C6 and future Z06 deserve a better color selection choice IMO. Wanted to vent on this point thanks for giving me a forum to use.

Phaster: Have you seen all the colors in person, on Corvettes I mean?

Have you attended any of the NCM events where GM has representatives you can talk to and offer suggestions/comments?

Here's a list of this year's events:

C5/C6 Birthday Bash---April 22-24.
C4/ZR1 Gathering----May 13-15
Forum Cruise In-----May 27-29
Z06 FEST---JULY 22-24
10th Anniversary Celebration----Sept 2-5
Camaro/Firebird Event---Sept 16-18
R8C Delivery Reunion Reunion---Sept 30-Oct 2
C3 Extravaganza---Oct 14-16

I'll be at the Birthday Bash, our Z06 Fest, and the 10th Anniversay Celebration. Just look for "Zippy," introduce yourself, and I'd be glad to introduce you to some of the poeple who will listen to your comments.

I will make every effort to attend an NCM event this year to meet with you and other fellow enthusiasts. I very much appreciate your offer and will take you up on it. There is a woman that works on the colors. I think she did the Electron Blue color.

A car's color IMO is a vital characteristic along with a myriad of other identifiers such as performance. I would gladly pay more for a better color choice on my future C6 Z06.

The traditional colors are ok but man it sure would be nice to sit in a Sliver Frost (1959) or Mossport Green (1966) C6 colored car.

I would even settle for a Chevy Hugger Orange at this pont.

Helen Embrey (not sure of the spelling) is the woman you r thinking about..I think.

She was at one of the NCM events I attended last year, and held a seminar inside the Chevrolet Theater.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Black is a nice color I agree. I have had all the standard colors on cars. A new color allows the car to stand out from the others and separate you from the pack, similar to a modified car versus a stock car.
I guess I can take my future C6 Z06 in to have it painted with a color I prefer, of course that will hurt the value like modding typically does. At least I won't have paint defects from the factory to complain about.

I agree, more choice would be better. What irritates me even more is that they make the higher-end models (e.g. the Z06) even MORE restricted on color availability. Witness the fact you can't order an 04 Z06 in Spiral Gray, or Magnetic Red, both of which would look great. Ford does the same damn thing with the Cobra. I can see special colors that are available only on the high end cars (like the Mystachrome paint Ford is doing on the 04 Cobra), but limiting the color selection to a subset of the whole line on the Z06 is just retarded.

Proexpert,
Where is that store located? Now that is Chevy Hugger Orange a historical musclecar color! That color on a C5 Z06 or a C6 Z06 would be outstanding.
I think that the Z06 should have a wider color selection than the coupe or convertible. I got
Are they going to put the standard colors on the anticipated supervette (Blue Devil)?
Corvette is GM's flagship car, how about some distinctive color selection. I guess I need to see how the painting process works at Bowling Green.
I have more color selection choices for a GM truck than I do for a corvette which really is quite sad. Can't they spare some paint? Is there a car philosophy missing? Must be the bottom line wins again $$. How much does it cost to add more color options. What colors does the caddillac have?
I have never looked at a caddy brochure but I should expect more for Caddillac vs. Corvette regarding color options, since the Corvette is the flagship car?

2002 Cadillac DeVille color choicess:

Sterling Silver
Blue Onyx
Graphite
Cotillion White (not avaialbe on DHS or DTS model)
Sable Black
Cabernet
Cashmere
Bronzemist
Crimson Pearl (extra cost)
White Diamond (extra cost)

I remember being dissappointed when I bought a DeVille couple of years ago that I could not get plain white (Cotillion) on a DeVille DHS or DTS even though those two models were $5,000 more than the base Deville!

That hugger orange camaro is worth more than that by now, the way the gen 1's are escalating in value.

I count 10 colors for the caddy versus quite a few less colors offered for the corvette/ Z06. Now I am getting depressed, not only do I have to wait for the new Z06 I have to pray for a color to be selected by the Gods that will make me happy.

There are a few of use that did not buy an 01 Z06 because of the color choices. By waiting a year, not only did we get a new color (electron blue), but more HP too. Good things come to those who wait.
