Better ship it up to me so that I can do a thorough evaluation at this critical point in your car's life. This evaluation may take several months and a few thousand more miles, but one can never be too cautious. Please be sure to send a gas card. I'll do the rest of the work pro bono.

Don't you have to completely rebuild the LS7 every 1,000 miles?

(the above smart-ass comment is not to be taken literally. thank you for your support.)

Some guys change the oil at 1k miles. Some car manuals say not to do it. I don't know anymore. I guess you can just change it.

I recommend changing your oil at the 1000 mile mark with Mobil 1.

I have my Dealer also change my Tranny fluid with Redline and the Rear End with GM's Product along with the Modifier at the 1000 mark as well. I 've done on the last 6 Vettes I've owned. I'm probably being to fussy, but I've had no catastrophic issues with my drivetrains

Redline's Tranny product has made a nice difference in terms of smoother shifting etc. To me it's made that much of a difference in my 2 C5 Coupes, my C5 Vert, 2 C5 Z06's and the 2 C6 Z06's I've owned to date. I'm only at 500 miles on my '07 Z06.

I always try & negotiate 2 or 3 free services and a good tint job during the purchase process.

I was fortunate enough to purchase my '07 for $1000 off MSRP including 3 free services and a free tint job. Saving me an additional $550. Oil changes down here in South Florida cost aprox $85 after tax and Environmental fees. The type of tint that I use cost $250.

Best of luck & Enjoy your new Z06!!

Les

Up here in Chi Town we can't run our Vet's year round...

I getting ready to winterize the beast and wanted to know if I should wait until Spring to change the Tranny Oil (changed engine oil with Mobil 1 at 1,000K).

I now have about 2300K

Don't tempt me....come January when the wind chill is -20. I make my plans for Venice, Fl and Phoenix, AZ to visit relatives. If they were a little closer I would drive!!!!

Got 900 miles on my Victory red and have had it less than 2 weeks! Will change oil and filter by next weekend, along with exhaust change to Corsas, insulated tunnel shield, Halltech tune and arranging to have to door and spoiler painted to match! Also Motor City Mold hood in my future!
