Lifting the 2006 Z06

Ok, I've searched everywhere and I just can't come to a proper discription on how to rasie my Z off the ground. She's about to go to bed for the winter season and I want to remove the wheels and keep her on blocks. Can anyone give me some advice. I've read many articles, but have not found any on the 2006 C6 Z06.

Thank you in advance

I use a 1.5 ton jack under the rear suspension cradle to lift the entire rear. The front I have used Rhino ramps to get the front end up enough to get my jack under the front suspension cradle. Or you could buy one of those low race jacks to gwet under the front.

It's funny that you should mention this - I just built my ramps yesterday. For each wheel, I used (2) 2x12's stacked and cut with a 45* front edge for easier wheel entry. Also, I have a strip of carpet attached to the bottom of the ramps to prevent slippage. Four Rhino Ramps cost about $80; my ramps cost $25 total.

As for the actual jacking procedure, I don't know if it differs from the C5. If not, there's a good thread on this for the C5 that you can also use for your C6. It's what I used as a reference.

Thanx for the responses. I think the C5 method is different tfrom that of the C6. I'll build the ramps and give myself a little more clearence to check the under side of the car. If anyone has any info on the C6, please chime in.

Thanx guys

I think the only difference between lifting the C5 and C6 using the method above is that the C6 doesn't have the same air dam underneath. The chassis is virtually identical.

Good luck,

Alex

Not "no more", just a lot less. Mine is a daily driver now and I still see the build up.

Would I put them in again? Definitely...

Thanks! Driving a Hummer H3 rental while my baby is in the shop for the rear end growl (2nd time-no clutch packs yet) and my worn drivers side left bolster.

And having them swap out to the ceramics!

For what its worth, on my C5, I built some blocks out of 2x6's
Threw the jacking pucks in the slots, raised the car (front first was easier) and put the blocks under the jacking pucks and dropped it back down. Then did the same with the back.
I ended up just having the car setting on 4 blocks.
I would assume the C6 has the same spots for jacking pucks.

I think that should work.

Her's my question. If you are jacking how can you remove the jack to put the blocks under? It has a location to jack which is about the size of a puck. The rest of the botom (underder the rocker panel) is covered in beautiful red finish - I would not want to scratch that.
