I was having a problem with my battery (as it turns out probably left radar detector on for several days). So I thought I had it charged up and after I got in it to start it up and pushed the start buttton, it went dead and there was no way to get out as best I could tell, so I called my wife on my cell and had her open the door using the key and pull string in the trunk. Fortunately she was in the house a few feet away.
With no mechanical door lever or lock button, I couldn't see a way out. Am I correct?
Like others have said. From inside the vehicle, use the door release
handle located on the floor next to each seat. Pull
the handle up to unlock and unlatch the door.pp:
Read page 80 of your owners manual

This is what happens when the electrical guys take over mechanical things. Dave Hill should be ashamed of himself for letting this happen. No good mechanical engineer would ever let the electrical guys design anything mechanical. It's a door not a computer.

That's right, it's a Z06.
The "eletric" door handle is one fo the reasons I was turned off by the C6. Even though it has a backup system, that was enoguh notice that they had little faith in the gizmos to begin with
I've had two C6s and have not had any issues with either of them. I have never needed to use the manual releases but I knew all about them before hand. Probably because I had a Viper before and they have had a similar setup for many years.
Technology is a wonderful thing. Don't fight it. Embrace it. LOL

Others have too just don't post it. Your in a new car it maybe dark, you don't have a key fob, your not familiar with the car, and you never expect to be locked in it. Both seats have a manual release lever just forward of the seats next to the sill plate area on the floor. Pull up and it releases the door.
well, this may not beat the original post, but got my silly story..
I got home the other day from a sweet ride, and I'm getting out of my car and the alarm goes off. I press the unlock button on the fob and nothing, hit the lock and unlock button on the door and fob, still nothing. Finally hit the acc on button and it stopped. Today, same thing happened! I was bummed, then my wife (what is it with women rescuing us?) says "you hit the panic button". Well, we figured out I was hitting the panic button with the flange on the key ring fastener I had on the key ring on the FOB as I bent my leg getting out. The thing is, the panic button alarm only turns off when you hit the panic button again, which is NOT what the manual says. It says you can hit any FOB button.
Anyway, I have a new policy: Nothing in the fob pant pocket except the fob. respect the fob.

I eventually disabled the panic button in the fob. The unexpected alarms were too much for me.
