Lots of 05's still on dealers lots. Discounts?

Had to put my 03 Z in the shop today for the first time. ABS error, passenger window won't go down, and need the column lock recall taken care of. Bankston Chev in Fort Worth area. Not a real big dealer, but they had 12 C6's , maybe more if some were out back. I believe they were all 05's.
No salesman were around, but i gotta think these things are selling at a reasonable discount. Anyone talk to these folks???

By the way, I've been ambivilent about the C6 styling, but up close I really like the looks of the car. Couldn't sit in one, they were all locked up. One thing that really looks bad is the XM antenna on the verts is mounted square in the middle of the decklid. Looks really tacky!

And it's not even color coded to the car (except black)

The XM anteanna module will disappear on the 2006 Vettes.

Will be mounted in side mirrors, and the side that picks up the strongest signal will be the one that locks in the signal for better reception.

took the Z to the dealer last week for a state inspection sticker and there were atleast 10 front and center on the lot, all had adjusted maket value +$9000, did talk with a sales rep after he asked what i was in here for....anyway after i told him all about the new Z ( he didnt have a clue) he told me they were getting 3, and would "be a good deal at +30k above sticker" ...lol

Dealers kill me some times. There is a Ford Dealer in Denver that still thinks it can get 300K for a Ford GT. All these guys are going to do is lose a lot of money.

Interesting, I was a very large Dealership in Detroit in August (20 Vettes) and they had 4 or 5 Vettes with XM antenna's and none were color coded to the car's color. Maybe they were a Dealer add-on.
But as Mr. Zippy says they are in the mirror for 2006 so all is good.

The coupe has the black wart antenna on top. The vert has a color matched wart antenna on the trunk lid.

Hate to tell ya wally, but Bankston and Moritz in Fort Worth aren't interested in your money. Neither one will discount or haggle on vettes unless their life was on the line and I'm not so sure then if they wouldn't have to think about it. I know that Bruce Lowrie on the southside there off I-20 and Hemphill doesn't carry a lot of inventory, but they make good deals and are honest. I bought my 03 from them for 44K even plus the taxes. Good luck.

Bonehead dealers

Planeguy,
Funny you should say that. When I bought my 2000, I ended up buying it for $1000 under msrp from Bruce Lowrie. Bankston (Hudiburg back then) laughed at me when I demanded a discount. When I bought my 03, I didn't even bother with them. Chuck Fairbanks in Desoto sold it to me for almost $8000 off.
I'm not really wanting to trade now, but was curious about the possible discounts. I bet at least 1/2 of those cars in Bankston's showroom will still be there in December!

i was recently in a chevrolet dealership and they had 8 c6's. they were willing to take 3000 grand off msrp. to agree to my lease payment. if they wont adjust the price just tell them you qualify for employee pricing and you will just wait for that to come out. you have to figure employee pricing on vette's will be allowed for qualified customers on 05's once 06's hit the lot.

Possibly, but I think GM is ending their Emplyee Pricing program at the end of September. Of course, it's expected that they'll have yet another incentive program shortly, so you may be correct.
