I'm down here in Bowling Green, KY. I arrived yesterday (wed.) morning and immediatly toured the factory and museum for the 2nd time (last time was in 98 when my mom had her vette delivered at the museum). I'm down here just to visit my car's birthplace and then I'm heading to Lebanon, TN for a big car show over the weekend. The corvette forum cruise-in starts today and I look forward to seeing alot of vettes and meeting some really nice people.
Anyways, I saw alot of C6's, both driving around and on the assembly line. They are pumping out about 3 C6's a day!
I like em' but there exhaust note is a little quiet for my tastes. You would understand why they are so quiet if you saw there 10 gallon mufflers (they're huge). Another thing I noticed it that the entire brake discs are black. If that is the new coating some aftermarket discs have, there should be no rusting behind the wheels (my pet peeve).
I wanted to see more of the XLR, but they don't let anyone in that area near the cars without wearing a full apron. I guess that's what makes them a cadillac though (quality control).
Overall, the people down here are extremely friendly and have really enjoyed my stay. I can't wait to come back for the FEST!

Thanks for the report from "Vettedom." Did you by chance see any of the new Orange-colored Vette? I was wondering what you thought of the color?
Also, do you mean the ENTIRE surface of the disc? Even the part that contacts the caliper pistons?? This seems rather odd to me & I hadn't read anything about this yet.
Thanks again for the detailed report.

Hey you are practically in my back yard! I hope you have a great time in BG and Lebanon. There is a great outlet mall in Lebanon that princess just absolutely loves to go to. Hope the weather holds out for you. Not looking to good for today though. Storm Prediction center has Kentucky under a moderate risk for severe weather. It got pretty bad around here yesterday. Be careful and have fun!

I did see the sunset orange vette and it looked good. My dad has an H2 in sunset orange met. and I love it. There are pics of it in my gallery.
Yeah, the entire surface of the rotor was black. They were on a yellow coupe that didn't have its wheels on yet. I thought this was weird too, but I have seen aftermarket discs that have this coating too. They look exactly like these that I found at Tirerack:
The black would look great! I don't know if I'd want them for the track though considering that they are drilled. For a street rotor, that would look sick. Any idea on price?
Unless they are cast in black, I can't see the material lasting. Who knows..

lasmith, frequent your area quite a bit, know what you mean about the outlet mall. Can never make the trip without my girlfriend breaking out the plastic and wasting an afternoon there.
