Motorola IHF1000 Hands Free Kit, changing Mic direction

I just had this installed over the weekend and so far I like it, only trouble is the tech installed the microphone on the windshield (no no according to the manual) and facing the wrong direction (manual says it's critical that it face the right direction).

In the interest of skipping another trip to Best Buy, does anyone here know the best way to separate something adhesed to the windshield without breaking it?

I can just flip the direction and attach to the part just above the windshield myself if I know I won't crack the thing trying to pry it off....
