My first experience driving a Corvette

This is my first post/ thread on your wonderful site which I've been following for about 3 years now. Until recently I decided to sign up. I have a love for Corvettes, Especially Z06's.

Like most of you, the C6 didnt quite 'do it' for me. At least the pictures and internet word didnt. A few months ago my Uncle told me he was going to order a 50th Anniv. vette, that choice soon changed to purchasing a C6. Well he took delivery of it last week and drove it down from Alexandria Virgina this long weekend. He Decided to take the scenic route through some nice roads and mountains. He actually complained that the 10 hour drive just wasnt long enough for himself and the vette. Anyhow...

The vette is a Precision red which has already been canceled and now is limited to 250 cars. Its an automatic (sadly) but gives you time to enjoy the car without having to bother with shifting gears. Yes the car is very quiet at idle but comes alive if you bring the rpms up.
The fenders are still bulky and hard to see over, causing my uncle to scrape the front driver side rim along a curb, hes ordering a new one.
We decided to hit the highway. With the windows down and the top off there was far too much wind turbulance, but you know that feeling...trying to talk over the sound of the wind while absolutly flying! The HUD proved useful at speeds exceeding 245 km/h, I reached my top speed of 265 km/h which is by far the fastest I've ever gone in anything.
The G meter on the HUD was interesting although I didnt get to use it that much, just watching it while I would dart across lanes.
The interior door panels reminded me of the XLR and nothing inside felt too cheap to me. Im sure if I had the car, the navigation would be very useful.
This car truly amazed me, a world class sports car by far.

I just couldnt reach this car's limits...

I hope you enjoy my story, I'll never forget the first time I drove a Corvette. If you guys would like, I can get some pictures of me behind the wheel.
