It's Machine Silver and it's bad. Bad is the only word I can use to describe this car with the very limited time I've had behind the wheel so far. I picked it up less than an hour ago and she is just beautiful. 2007 2LZ with polished wheels. This has been a hectic week for me with the dealer phoning to say they had one in but the person didn't want it. I was in for a black one at MSRP and we were looking at a years wait. I told them no thank you I'll wait on the black car to arrive. They advertised it for sticker and had several folks that wanted it but every deal fell through. I had told them that I would be interested in the car but not at sticker. Almost through me out of the place at that point. Hell in South Fl. their getting way above sticker for them they said, hey sell it to them. I don't care I'm not paying sticker so I'll wait on the Black one and we'll talk money then. To make a long story short they came off the price and I took the deal. You guys are right this is a very special car. I'm going out to the garage right now to make sure it's still there.
Is this the point where all those who paid extra over sticker begin to have second thoughts? I remember looking at the 2001 Z06's early in that year, the dealer wanted many thousands over sticker so I passed. Came back in July after the 405hp 2002 was announced and got thousands off the sticker(while I was filling out the paperwork a guy sitting next to me was paying $8000 over sticker for a '02). I think I would have been really pissed off if I had went for the first deal!
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. The sales manager is a good friend and he treated me very well as he has in the past. I have purchased several cars/trucks from this dealership as have some of my children. Business is business however and they were hard over on not discounting this car. I know they had spent some money advertising this car and were looking at spending some more when they phoned me about taking it. The whole thing came off very smooth and painless. I'm pleased as punch with it and couldn't ask for anything more. WOW what a car. You are right Norm about the miles of smiles.
Ivo's right, bring it to the TBV Ultimate Corvette Party on the 18th. I'd love to see it in all its' silverness!
