My husband and I are studying the owners manual and CD and have a question about our 2009 Z06.
We don't have the ride control knob on the center consol as shown in the manual.
Now it feels like the ride has stiffened up a bit, and the car is sitting lower. Suddenly the lower nose now scrapes the asphalt exiting our driveway too.
Is it our imaginations?
Perhaps we changed something that in turn, caused this or is the active ride control now switched differently or automagically on the newer 2009's?

It is one excellent manual, though we get a tad foggy on some things.

The Z06 does not have Selective Ride control, hence there is no "knob" on the center console. It is also know as the "electronic" suspension. This is an option on the LS3 Coupe and convertible, but not available on Z06 for wt. savings. The Z06 a fixed (performance driving oriented) suspension. There are no electronic controls in the suspension.
You are confusing the Z06's standard suspension tuning with the active handling (or TRACTION) control system. There is a "pushbutton" mode switch on your center console for that system. All Corvettes have a similar system as standard equipment because it is a safety feature.
When you start the car, active handling defaults to fully enabled, again for maximum safety, but if you use the mode button, you can switch to partially enable or competition mode or turn the system off completely (not advisable unless you are a highly experienced driver out on the track).
The instructional DVD is fairly thorough but unfortunately, it was written to be applicable to ALL models, and therefore can be a bit confusing.
Scrapping the front end "splitter" is sadly unavoidable going over driveway entrances and speed bumps. You just have to be careful there. The splitter is made of semi-flexible plastic, designed to take quite a beating and can be easily replaced if damaged.
If you decide you prefer the system to default to "competative driving" you can purchase a laptrax controller which will change the default. This retains the active handling but turns off the traction control.
Traction control has nothing to do with "ride" control. They are two different systems and Z06 is not available with the latter. The Z06 only has a "fixed" suspension. It is NOT (electronically) adjustable. Hence, there is no way your ride quality would change from one day to the next in a Z06. If you turn off the Traction control system with the button on the center console, you will still have exactly the same ride quality as before, only there will be no ABS brake intervention when you start to loose traction while high speed cornering or in the rain and/or snow.

We would do this but you are the first one we know of that actually was smart enough to read the manual.
Try to leave the driveway at an angle so the tire hits the street first. This will help reduce the amount of drag of the air dam on the curb.
Secondly, it is just a little rubber piece that is probably rubbing the curb. No harm, no foul. As long as it isn't the lower part of the splitter rubbing you are fine.

Don't let the splitter scrapping the ground get your feathers ruffled either. I use to freak about it but, a little sandpaper to the fuzzies on the splitter and it's all smooth. Just like a baby's bottom.
GM in their infinite wisdom made the splitter out of very pliable plastic. Just be glad it isn't carbon fiber!

427 Kid, the active handling is for "grip" control for lack
a better word. It does not change anything, but can save your butt if you get the rearend out of line. It will react to cut the applied torque before you can react. I have had it come on only once and, unfortunately, it cut short a nice sideways slide (the Goodyears on this car really are a big detriment to getting full performance).
Did you lower the car? Sounds like it was lowered. Not sure if these bolts can get loose and lower by itself but worth having looked at if you are positive the car is lower and riding harder.
