new 2008 z06

went to buy new z06 for 5200 of with my gm card and there was paint damage on the passenger door. Also they had scraped up both of the front black air dams. Two big warts were on the bottom of the door almost touching the rocker panel. would they have to paint the whole door? this made for a bad day.

That sucks! I don't know what color your car is but more than likely the entire door will have to be painted. It's impossible to spot blend with a clear coat finish.

Silver is one of if not the toughest color to blend because of all the metalic in the paint. I would look the car over very closely when it's done and make sure the entire door was painted and make sure the panels match.

If I am spending $80,000 on a new car I don't expect to be doing touch ups or repairs before I drive it off the lot. Find another car.

$5200 off MSRP on an 08 Z with your GM card sounds pretty good ...
If you're cool on the price and options ... I'd suggest having the dealer fix it and then see if you are satisfied before you finalize the deal.
I have a QuickSilver ... they had to touch up the inner door jam on delivery (use a third party jobber for that)... couldn't tell it.
Later, I picked up a major scratch on the lower pass door and used the same third-party jobber the dealer uses. Came out fine ...
