Hi Gents. I've been lurking for awhile, but this is my first post. You all have a great site here and I have learned a lot already.
I am in the market for a new Corvette. I am on the fence about spending the extra money on the Z06. I can afford it, but it is the age old question of whether or not I really need to spend that money.
Anyhow, I would like to get a feel for the actual market prices right now and where the best places are to buy. So if you've bought, or know of someone who has bought either a C6 or a C6Z recently, please let me know about the deal and about the dealership. I live in the Southeast, and would prefer to buy somewhere in this part of the country.
Also, I can get GMC Supplier Discount Pricing. I've never used this before and don't know if that prices is better than something negotiable. If anyone knows more about this pricing or has info on any pitfalls with it please let me know what to lookout for.
Thanks

Chuck,
Welcome to the forum and good luck on your purchase!
As you posted this query in the C5 Z06 section, you might not get the responses you are looking for. The moderators can probably move this to the C6 Z06 subforum for you though.
I lived in Barlett from 02-05 while I was working at the Navy base in Millington and had good results with Gwatney (non-Corvette purchase). When I bought my 02 Z06 in Aug 01, I went to my local Chevy dealer in Southern Georgia. He had no Corvettes at all, but printed the build sheets for every Torch Red Z06 east of the Mississippi. About 50 existed. I got on the phone and started calling until I got a dealer that gave me a fair price ($1000 over MSRP at the time for the 02s which were about as hot as the C6 Z06s are now). The dealer was in Tampa and I flew down there and bought my car.
Maxie Price in Atl is a huge volume dealer that moves a lot of Corvettes, but I've read mixed reviews on their customer service.
Hi Chuck,
I have purchased two '08 Z06's in the last month. One for me and one for a friend that didn't have the time (long story). They were purchased at two different dealers but got the same deal on both, invoice plus $149 doc fee, whatever the heck that is. :-) Seems that is pretty much the deal out there if you work a little.

You can forget about the GMS discount for the Z06. I've tried but the Z06 is excluded even though you can quote it online. You may be able to swing with just a C6. Best thing to do is start looking around and start calling different dealerships...may be except Maxie Price in Loganville, GA. They don't ever call you back.
Bought a 08 Z06 Saturday. Frank Parra in Dallas has 6 and is working on deals up to $4000 off sticker. Great guys and will not haggle- just give you a price and go. Jerry

If you paid $4k below MSRP for a Z06, you grossly overpaid!!! Check the Forum Supporting Dealers. My friend just upgraded from a 01Z to a 08Z 1LZ PEG and it was built last week. Doing NCM in mid-April. Try $8992 off MSRP from a Forum Dealer.

Just wanted to say congratulations on the C6Z and welcome to
You got it ... don't look back!
Enjoy the ride!
Oh ... we always want pics ... so open a thread and show off!
In Miami they're still trying for sticker or -$2000 at best. We just had a customer of ours buy one last week for the -$2000. From the other posts it sounds like he should have done some more shopping !!

That is so true. I bought about 5 mnths ago and the further south I went the harder they tried to hold to sticker. I found mine in my backyard after all that looking, in West Palm for 5000 under sticker which was pretty good at the time. Then the bottom kept falling out and I hear many stories for 7-9000 off now. Try Kerbeck they routinely sell 1lz's for 65500. Good luck you will have no regrets after getting a great deal and then having a brand new car for a used price. Imagine being some of the guys who paid 15-20000 over for and 06 and are getting in the 50's now!

You WILL be able to find a Z06 at supplier pricing, which on a 2LZ is about 7k or so off of MSRP. It's just a matter of finding the Dealer who wants to sell. It's a buyers market out there, and the market sucks. I do not believe that you can do better than GMS. But keep looking around, it will not be too hard to find a dealer that will honor the supplier pricing. I got it here in Cleveland.
Right now you should be able to get $1,000 or more under Supplier pricing on any new '08 Z06. I was quoted way under that on a maxed-out 3LZ but decided to go for an '09 instead. The cheapest dealer will vary from day to day so give them all a chance. The two cheapest on the day I asked were Rick Conti (EVS Chevrolet) and Ken at TheVetteNet.com.
I think you do yourself a favor by being willing to take Museum Delivery. That's in Bowling Green, KY, so not too far from you. Besides being a lot of fun, it lets you work with any dealer in the country.
