New Corvette Chief Engineer?

Has anyone heard about this announcement today?

"Chevrolet has appointed Tadge Juechter, longtime Assistant Chief Engineer of Corvette, to the position of Vehicle Chief Engineer for Corvette and Cadillac XLR. Tadge will continue to report to Tom Wallace, Vehicle Line Executive and Robert Kruse, Engineering Director North America. Tadge has been Assistant Vehicle Chief Engineer for the Corvette since 2001 and has played a key role in the successful development and launch of the C6 Corvette and the Z06."

That is great news. The Corvette needs its own head guy (even though he has the XLR too). I was worried that Tom Wallace had to many responsibilties to dedicate time to the Corvette. Tadge has been very involved with the Z06 from the beginning. He will be great for Corvette. I listened to some of his seminars and even got to talk with him briefly at the 50th anniversary celebration a few years ago. I was very impressed with him.

Yes, it's true.....I posted it under the NCM topic several days ago, and Wendell Strode (executive director of the NCM) anounced it at the Z06 Fest Awards Banquet.

The official title for Tom Wallace is "Vehicle Line Executive & Chief Engineer Performance Cars."
