New Exhaust Opinions Needed!

I currently have the mild to wild switch, It sounds good, but what I would really like is something that could be much louder when the valves are open and just as quiet when they are closed. ie; Billy Boat Fusion... but I heard they are quieter than Corsa... which I do like, but again, than I lose the whole mild to wild gadgetry which I do love.

So I guess I'm asking if anyone knows of a way to incorporate the stock exhaust and make it louder at full (or open) throttle mode?... If not what do you like and why?

Go to YOU TUBE and type in 2006 Z06 Exhaust. You'll hear and see plenty of C6 Z06's there. That's your best bet.

Re: New Exhaust Opinions Needed!

Long tube headers, 3" X pipe with gutted cats connected to stock mufflers will make the noise you want.

Yes! And with my big cam, people stop and stare.

And I still have the ability to go quiet mode near the police.

BB Fusion / X-Pipe / LT Headers anyone?

Does anyone have the BB Fusions with an X-pipe, and LT headers anywhere near Palm Beach in FL? I would love to hear the setup before shelling out $4k for the setup.

Re: New Exhaust Opinions Needed!

Here's a link to a post where a guy cuts open the Z06 muffler, removes the glass packing and with clamps turns the loud path into a straight pipe, no muffler effect. He says it makes the quiet side about 10% louder and the loud path about 50% louder.

I haven't done it.... yet. Mine is pretty loud already with the long tubes and gutted cats.

Re: New Exhaust Opinions Needed!

Just purchase two electric cutouts and you will make the maximum noise with the flip of a switch and spend the least money to get there. I bought a pair for $360 with a 4 year warranty. A good welding shop will probably charge you $30-$40 to weld them on.

I think cut-outs is the best way to go. That way you have noise on tap.

Re: New Exhaust Opinions Needed!

The muffler mod will cost about $30 in parts and probably $50 in labor. Cheaper than the cutouts and the exhaust goes to the rear of the car, not under it. Have you looked at the flat bottoms of our cars? Is there a good place to mount those cutouts?

Could you please list the parts I would need to buy? What type of shop would cut open the muffler? any speed shop? I don't think Midas will do in lol
