The added onstar, steering wheel controls and sound deading may account for the price increase.

Actually the base is "only $69,175".....The $70K has an asterisk by it...they have added the newly increased Destination fee of $825...Making it a net total of $70K before options......

Yep. Now it's called GM markup. Same difference. I optioned out an 06 and 07 and there was a 6-7 thous. dollar difference. Costly for just onstar, steering wheel controls, and sound deadening add.

Luckily I grabbed an 06

A dealer in Roseville Ca, just east of Sacramento, has three 06 Z's, marked up to $100K.

Checked out the KBB site that references the G.M. site for local dealer stock. Here in Florida several dealers have 07's in stock and 06's. When you bring up the cars sticker it show all the bad news. Well over a 3K increase. I talked to my dealer about my order and he said don't worry about the markup. We'll take care of that. We shall see because that kind of talk is cheap.

Looks like it did go up... At the time when I made my first reply, their site showed $66,465 as the base (as shown in the screenshot from their website that I had posted [http://img306.imageshack.us/img306/4...pricingnz3.jpg]) - which is why I had asked "Are you sure?"

As of that point yesterday, I guess they didn't update their site. It now shows $70K.

Guess they realized they were selling the car too cheap. There going to have to put more in the interior if thats going to happen. From what I see thats still the major downfall.

Take another $3,500 and throw the magnacharger on and you have a "Blue Devil" for $30,000 less.

Big jump over the 06 base price. Could be that GM's thinking is if they keep pushing the price of the Z06 up, by the time the Blue Devil makes its appearance, people will step up, just like they are doing for the Z06, and pay the extra $20-$25 grand for the bad boy.
