New Z06

how many people think that the C6 corvette should have retained the flip up headlights?....i also think GM should have put the fixed headlights in the C6 Z06....this would have been a dramatic change that would have gave Z06 owners a very different look....what does everyone else think?

I'm not a big fan of the "fixed" headlights and feel that GM should have kept the flip type on the new C6 regardless of it being a Z06 or not. Everytime I see someone who has the fixed type conversion kit on their C5 I just think it looks like ass. Just my opinion.

I think a few of the conversion kits for the C5 look nice. Better than flipups? Hell no.

As far as the C6 is concerned, I also firmly believe both the base and the Z06 should have retained flipup headlights.

The problem is HIDs. I don't think you can have them with flip ups. And I would much prefer having better lights.

I like the new fixed headlights, I have never liked flip up headlights on any car.

We put men on the moon 35 years ago. Surely this is not beyond current technological abilities.

The C6 looks like the bastard child of the Vette and Viper. But, having said that, I'll probably own one in a few years.

I ranted and raved and jumped up and down when the design guys dropped the round taillights in favor of "ovals" on the latter year C4's. It didn't take long to get used to a Corvette without the round taillights. I like the pop-ups when they're closed but I'm not too thrilled with the looks when they are up and operating. I'm not a big fan of the C6 fixed lights either but I'm sure they'll grow on me.

I can't say I am too crazy about the looks of the C6. It just didn't have the impact on me that the C5 did when I first saw one. Thinking back, (and now I'm showing my age) when the C2 came out, when the C3 came out, and when the C5 came out I looked at those cars and thought "I gotta have one". The C4 and so far, the C6 I thought "I might get one" - just not the same impact on me.
Just so you don't think I'm too old - I didn't have a driver's license when the C2 ('63) or C3 ('68) came out.

Functionally I prefer the fixed HID headlights to the C5's popups but I think GM's design falls short. The new lights just do not look very good at all.

Oh Boy, does this make perfect sence to me. I seldom jump to a new trend but wait to see how it ages.

I love the fixed headlite look. I like the flip ups also.

Savage--
Thanks for asking.

Charlie, your above description is precisely how I feel as well.
Pop-ups when down are
STEALTH but when they are up they say "Frog eyes" to me. I'm hoping that the C6 does grow on me because I know that eventually I'll probably want a newer one.
