Only 44 miles on 08Z -- advice on whether to

have the dealer check out my tranny as it takes a little extra pull to get it into 2nd. However, if I do it nice and slowly, it seems to do okay. I think I just have a heavy hand. (Note, I have not been over 3,000-3,500 RPMs yet). Appreciate any thoughts. Chris.

Are you sure your not fighting against CAGS (Computer Aided Gear Selection) ?

CAGS operates in these parameters
Disable TPS - 13% (anything above this and CAGS is disabled)
Min Coolant - 171 F
Enable Speed - 15 mph
Disable Speed - 19 mph

Try shifting to 2nd gear either before 15 MPH or above 20 MPH

Get the CAGS bypassed. It is a safety hazard to boot. My Z06 is silky smooth. Often I can shift clutchless. The cone syncros are a big improvement.

Keep your RPM band up don't lug around and you'll have no issues. I've always kept mine +/-2500 RPM on the street. Never had a CAG's alert either on 2 C5 Z06's and this C6 Z06.

Drive it and enjoy it. Good luck.

more miles definitely helps and also at first it doesn't loosen up till the car is at operating temp.

Thanks guys. After a few more drives, I definitely have

to try to avoid the CAGS, as I sometimes want to shift within that band. That said, avoiding it, I still get a little gear "strip" noise in 2nd and 3rd at times, but not going into 1st. I will give it some more time, see if I can get the break in before really testing it.
